Small bug I've noticed.
This happens if I have disengaged cavalry from enemy, as it retreat to almost edge of screen on my side.
When cavalry turns back to face enemy, something odd happens sometimes. The cavalry moves back and forth like
somebody would be playing with videos controls, rewinding tape back and forth in a quick pace. The units turn first forward,
then back, forever. Same time the disengage button flashes on and off. Can't do anything to units then.
It's like the game engine couldn't decide are the units really retreating/disengaging, and decides to both at the same time.
Happened few times yesterday, hasn't caused big problems yet.

This has also happened to some of my units as well. You are right though, Iain, it is hard to reproduce. It depends on the situation and the unit's orders when given.
But anyway, thanks for an interesting game.
I really hope that you make expansion packs. I got all the way with an army Ceasar would have been proud of and the game is over. I would love to be able to use that army I worked so hard on to fight another 20 years...
Just stared the Gaul Campaign and finding it a lot easier than playing the Romans.

Disengage/Engage
I saw the same back/forth cavalry action after attempting to disengage a unit. They behaved oddly for the rest of the combat, spinning 180 degrees and moving one step each way in rapid succession. I suspect that they were trying to disengage from one unit while attempting to automatically charge a second unit that was right next to their own encounter.

Yes, this happens to me, and a couple other players have described similar things, specifically the rapid back and forth and the wildly flickering Disengage button.
As with the deployment-not-saving issue, it's impossible to document or give you an example of, because it's random.
I know, you challenge us to "give us an example". And that's just not possible with something that is, as far as we can see, totally random.
But that doesn't mean it's not happening, or that it's not a legitimate complaint.

I'll tell you about the weirdest occurrence of that deployment-not-saving bug.
I deployed my troops on a map, then decided to change their colors, so I went back to the army camp screen, changed all their colors, then returned to the deployment screen, and my deployment was gone. Everybody was lined back up in their default order again.
