Re: Playing the AI - battle proven tricks

I like to bleed the AI.It will spend every bit of its prestige on replacements for air units.Seems to focus on replacemnts for AA units as well.NO more spam defenses.

Re: The RAF and the RN

Thanks marty.I"m so intent on getting rid of enemy ships I never thought of suppressing them.I'm in Russia right now.I might play the sea lion scenario again to see how suppressing them works for me.

Re: The RAF and the RN

I started a new campaign and built my core to have 5 experienced fighters rather than 4.upgrading all my fighters helped a lot with sea lion.Knowing about the radar towers helped as well.THat spitfire still gave better than it got though.IT seems like a ships passive air defense applies to air and n...

Re: WWI Mod v1.4 (Last Update 17 Aug '14)

trying to download this mod from the link at the beginning of this thread but I'm having problems. Is this media fire something I have to subscribe to?I get a permission denied message after clicking on link, it also looks like I'm trying to download "God save the Queen" rather than wwi mod...

Re: how do mods work

Move the discussion to my WWI thread ( http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=47239 ), and someone (better than me in this case!) should be able to help. You will also need to use the GME tool, and exactly where does changing the icon come into it? - BNC Didn't change icon itself...

Re: Forecast accuracy always 80%?

I was beginning to think that high command thought the only way to achieve surprise was to invade under the cover of a driving rain.

how do mods work

Where do I get them?how do I make them work?looked through the first 20-25 pages of the forums and didn't see anything about them, except how much people seem to like them.I'm not real computer savvy,so if someone could point me to one of those how to posts it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

I think 2 panzer divisions & 1 infantry division were under guderiens command in Poland and the west.Thats really what I was thinking of when I wrote "authentic corps.".

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

those comprimises are what I meant.when the used to run war games before the war all the equipment had to be represented by men in cardboard boxes because they had no equipment except motorcycle battalions.I cant get motorcycles until Russia. In the beginning I like to make my groups, usually 2,with 2...

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

It also covers the end of the war as well.when guderian was in charge. He only talks about what he did,but he was the driving force in the panzertruppe formations.I mentioned the book because one of the other post said it was hard to find the info.its arranged like a family tree would be.You don't ha...

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

I'm probably late to the discussion, but I have two cents.I was rampaging through france the other day and I wondered what the germans actually did to break the line defending paris.I flipped through guderians "panzer leader".the index has the exact numbers for a panzer corp(1939-1942).He ...

Re: The RAF and the RN

I got DLC 39-42 when I got the base game.I had found the campaign tree for that , but it didn't occur to me that the campaign path had changed.I didn't come to the forum until I had a couple of WTF moments. For me the war is in Europe.I rarely went the Africa route. If I were an evil sociopath bent on...

Re: The RAF and the RN

I've been playing this game for about 20 yrs.I always chose a MV in france so I could get a couple more scenarios. When I didn't get the option to go to crete I realized the campaign path was different than I was used to.This was my first encounter with radar towers.Do the capital ships give an initi...

The RAF and the RN

Is it just me or did the british surgically implant a horse shoe in the rear end of every man in these services? I know british had a slight advantage in fire power in their planes, but the Bf109 was still better.IN sea lion 40 I can match 4 planes against 1 spitfire,i can destroy it but all 4 plane...
