how do mods work

Where do I get them?how do I make them work?looked through the first 20-25 pages of the forums and didn't see anything about them,except how much people seem to like them.I'm not real computer savvy,so if someone could point me to one of those how to posts it would be greatly appreciated.

I installed the mod thingy & changed the icon,but when I tried to download the wwi mod I got Permission Denied.Does anyone what I did wrong?

You will also need to use the GME tool, and exactly where does changing the icon come into it?

Didn't change icon itself.Had to change start in address in properties.I'll ask my questions in the appropriate forum.I tied to download the mod from you re post in scenario design forum.something about media fire?permission denied.gonna try again today.thanks again for the help.sorry huertgenwald I'm not a computer guy I have trouble navigating site and I don't know what PM means,beyond time telling that is.

I think your problems are more likely to be solved if you post stuff where everyone can see it than if you just PM it to me. I tend to use PMs only to deal with people's emails and other stuff that I don't want everyone to see.
