Re: Britcon 2013
Well the swiss were a disaster last year and I agree that they are much better on a small table, however it doesn't stop people sitting in terrain which is an expected frustration. My preference is always to play early period the only bonus to medieval is that I might get to play Dave R which is alw...

Re: V2 Interpenetrations - LF evading
Where the interpretation is based only on any part of the unit this becomes a bit strange. If I have a 6 element unit of LF in column that means the last element can ge betting an extra 3 inches of movement.

Re: V2 Printed proof approved!
Hi I would also like to thank you for all the effort you have put in. The complaining minority on the boards are just that a fraction of the people I play with. In New Zealand we have our second Version Two competition this weekend and we continue to enjoy your great set of rules. At the moment we s...

Re: So is v2 any good?
I have played eight games so far and I am finding it enjoyable. The 3 mu shooting for mounted is a big nerf in fighting HF. The retiring 2 mu sounds good and is useful but a 3mu shooting range is not all powerful.
Balanced armies are alot more useful instead of filling up with one or two troop types.

Re: Britcon and Worlds 2012
I am thinking Medieval as the Australian Nationals and Worlds next year are an open on 6x4. I will decide this weekend and post so Dave and I can have our grudge match.
Unfortunately I do not have an early period army that I like in 5x3 for 800 pts.

Re: Britcon table size - time for something new?
New job this year so do not have the leave to make more than one competition. I have take a weeks leave to make britcon which is my preferred Northern hemisphere competition.
Strange that I chickened out into the larger competition. But at least I didn't get second again after switching periods

Re: Britcon table size - time for something new?
Table size and points. I can decide period or open later. With flying for two days and playing then flying straight back I am keen to book soon so I get a cheap fare.
Hopefully you won't run away to the biblical period Dave!

It is interesting that in the 650pt competitions in Australia and New Zealand that they are resulting in 90%+ army breaks. I believe this indicates that format has balanced table size, time and points well. It would be good to see in the South Pacific if 900pts on 6x4 would have the same effect. One...

This keeps getting relitigated all the time but the same people keep arguing the point in the threads whenever they appear. There is not an overwhelming proportion of players posting here saying this is a problem. I think of the rankings we have 850 players and maybe 20 or 30 in this thread. In any ...

I would not agree with OldenTired that there is any pattern in New Zealand that people are trying to play for Draws. The results would not suggest that. If you go back over the competitons in the last year they have all had more than half the games fought to conclusion. The top four in last weekends...

I agree about the extra move for 2 bgs by moving through each other should not be allowed. However its well known on the forum and I have never used it or seen it used. I am a LH player about half the time so I do have a bias. This thread has less than 20 people debating it, how many acitve and casu...

At the end of the day people will pick the type of tournament they want to play in be it themed or 650pt. However get some facts right about the tournament you are complaining about. Where you didnt like the first day so did not come to the second. 10 players - NZ has a small FoG scene so reasonable...
