Hi Paperinik, after installing the 1.7.0 patch you probably shouldnt install the S&S expansion as all files should now be included if i understand correctly (alternatively download and install the full 1.7.0 installer and run that). The idea now is that you just need to enter your registration code ...

Thanks guys, i have done some more tests and it does seem as if my SAS install file is broken as i can't run on my win7 system either which is where it originally worked!
Will have to ask for a new download link.

I can't install SAS v1.4 to two different pc's running win xp 32 bit!
One has FOG v 1.3.3 the other has v 1.4.3

Running the install file it says initializing but after a while crashes with an error in irsetup.exe
"Fieldofglorysetuplog" doesn't contain any information about the SAS install attempt ...

Since version 1.4 with sas, a bug has been introduced regarding animation speed in the preferences file.
The speed kept being put to the far left on the slider.
Looking in the preferences file i found the value -> "dblHexesPerTick", 0,308642
seeing as a comma was used as a field delimiter i guessed ...

From the hexwar "rulebook" and the locally installed help files :

Looks like the only factor that was used in this case was:

+1 The battle group is adjacent to a friendly commander.

It is compatible with win 7 64 bit as that is what i am runnning it on.

Interestingly enough I have the same problem but with a completely different game!! but only this other game.
I'm speculating that my problem started when I updated my nvidia drivers to the latest version (258.96)
When I get some time to investigate i'll update this thread with my findings.

It's pretty much always been the case that Digital River doesn't play nice with download managers. I thought there was now a warning about it, but I could be wrong.

It might be that there were errors in this download which you didn't get before, and the downloader was a little too keen to hook up ...

So it seems i can't get SOA because my download manager has used up the number of attempts.
I have written a mail to customer service regarding this but I thought I would just warn anyone else, if they buy SOA and try to use flashget or other "helpers", Don't!!!
