Minimum Points
Ok, following on from my 'One-Day Competition' Thread what is the minimum points value that would be reasonable working from the existing army list books ?
I'm ruling out the 'starter' armies because they vary too much, so would 650 points (maximum 3 generals) work ?

One-Day Competitions
Hi Most 4-game, 2-Day competitions means a hotel or B&B and TBH that puts them way out of my reach. Times are tough for a lot of people and a I would expect a comp that didn't need an overnight stay would be well attended. Despite this, as far as I know, there is only one 3-game, 1 day com...

If the RG is always on a nett factor of evens It isn't, it just starts off at a factor of 0 against all target types. There is nothing in the rules (AFAIK) to stop it counting situational POAs. That is exactly the opposite answer to the one Nik gave, but I will takes yours as being the correct one....

Factors for regimental guns
Can someone clarify what the '0' in the shooting factors table for regimental guns means ? 1. Am I right to think that it means that the RG always shoots at an 'evens' factor ? (4 5 or 6 to hit) 2. Does the regimental gun get included when reducing the shooting dice for being disrupted ? Thanks, Pete

Vikings as MF
I would like to propose that there should be an option for Viking armies be allowed to be MF rather than HF. The chronicles and other histories contain many references to 'fast moving' Vikings and speak of their vulnerability to cavalry attack. These would be well represented as MF rather than the H...

Musket / Pike Ratio
Hi When trying to reproduce historical actons, how is it best to do this ? For example, the excellent ECW battle scenario books available from Caliver list unit strengths and musket to pike ratios. These can range from 2:3 to 3:1 in the same engagement and only using musket or musket* doesn't really...

I dragged myuself up at 5am to watch the afternoon session, and while I was very impressed with our progress at that point, I rather think we let them get away a bit between lunch and tea. The Aussie performance actullay reminded me of how England have performed on a number of occasions ... Still an...

It has problems with ahistorical matchups, but this is only to be expected from a set of rules intended to cover 4500 years of military conflict. It is intended to cover warfare in each sub-period during that long time-span. Hence the structure of the army list books. If people insist on playing ah...

Generals influence on variable moves
Just an idea that popped into my head last night. How about if a general who is accompanying a charging unit was able to adjust the variable move dice + or - 1 ? Scores still can't go higher than 6 or lower than one, but it would simulate the general urging his men to either 'get a move on' or 'hold...
