I am 100% sure that you have never seen ancient light troops in actual combat and so really dont know how they would react. They were used quite regularly by most ancient armies so must have been of some significant use.I would tend to think they would be more useful then less useful.Incidentally I w...

I dont quite understand-"Much less troubled by lance ownership"-Cats and Knights most definitely have to charge when they dont want to,cannot evade and are slower than the Lance armed Cav.Remember you also get the Lost To Lancer -1 on Morale rolls if the cav wins Impact.Lance armed cav are...

All my Knights are 4 stands. The problem is that the arty moves very slowly if at all.Just because you get etra dice with the arty iis not the only factor.Much better target numbers for most opponents with the longbows-They can move and shoot-They are swordsmen.

Low Countries and Longbows

I am a happy newbie to FOG and I have pulled out my old DBM standby army of Low Countries.I am in a bit of a conundrum though.I will be hitting my first Tournament in New Orleans at Bayou Wars and I am trying to streamline my list.I really like what the light arty can do to a target but in an open t...

I play FOW and now FOG and I have to say that Luddites comments are without much merit. To have what you say happened to the British troopers you would have had to have either some incredible dice luck or you were playing the rules wrong. You cant stormtrooper when you assault-were the Brits pinned?-d...
