Cohesion test modifier due to artillery or firearm shooting

Imagine a unit is being shot at by a BG of archers and a BG of handgunners.
The archers score enough hits to force a cohesion test. The handgunners score no hits.
Would the -1 apply anyway or do the handgunners need to score at least one hit themselves?

I assume it counts anyway, but wanted to make sure.

You just need to be shot at by firearms or artillery-no hits required.
