MF/HF - when is decision made?
some units can be purchased as EITHER MF or HF (the Theuros offensive spear in the graeoco bactrian and other successor type armies).
the cost is the same.
do you have to announce BEFORE seeing the terrain/opposing army whether they will take the field as MF or as HF, or can you decide during the ...

pike-shot footprint at varying sizes
the rule book nicely displays the foot print of the big battalions of a dozen bases...
...but none of the pike/shot units or tercios in the army list book are that large...most seem to be 6 to 9 bases...
where are these big tercios to be found? what army lists?
also, the bases of shot in the ...

crossbows
i need to remount my crossbows from my old wrg armies and was wondering how they will be represented
in the game....in the rule book the only reference to that issue is in the sample french army list where it shows them as light troops.
will that be the norm in the upcoming army lists?

i beg to differ. longbows are not very effective in this game. i do not have any problems with the other firing mechanisms and points of advantage etc with other weapons, as if you can manage to get enough fire on a unit you might just actually kill something -- or, more importantly, cause it to ...

longbows so weak
Longbows seem terribly weak and ineffective in FOG.
yes, they do get some pluses against some troops and do not suffer minuses against others, but compared to almost every other miniatures or board or computer game i can think of seem very weak.
from all i have read they should be far more lethal ...

charging, shooting at routers - what happens and when?
these questions apply to units already in rout. if you know the answer, please cite the rule book page.
(1) what happens when you shoot at a routing unit?
---does it take a death test for hits?
---does it take a cohesion test, and if it fails does it immediately take a rout move? what if it passes ...

let me add my congratulations as well. the digital army builder in particular is superb -- easy to use (although i had to change my screen display from 800 down to 1024 to see the very right hand column where you actually buy the units, but after building a few armies, i just backed out, put the ...
