Burgundian colour plates / references

Hi All, Having worked out my list more or less for Ordonnance Burgundians I am looking now for some reasonably detailed / accurate references on heraldry, banners, colours, etc. I have found a few minor online references and have a copy of the Osprey book. Can anyone suggest anything else? Doesn't m...

Ha! I stopped reading that too. :D Not to worry, it will make for a point of difference and a bit of a challenge. The extra points from the "downgrade" to FC can go towards upgrading my English Billmen to Superior. Totals up nicely to 797pts. Alternatively, I can buy stakes for all three M...

Interesting idea. I'd have to buy and paint a couple more stands of bow, but I could then make the following at 803pts. 1 x Inspired Commander [80] 2 x Troop Commanders [70] 1 x Allied English Troop Commander [25] 4 x Ordonnance Men-at-Arms - Knights, Heavily Armoured, Average, Drilled [84] 4 x Ordo...

Unfortunately I can get a max of 6 stands of handgunners, hence the current BG. I was planning to pair them with the crossbows anyway. Are 6 stands not worth the difference over 4? I figured at 4 points each I might as well go for the largest available number seeing as the quality was lower. I also ...

Ordonnance Burgundian - the last few points...

Hi Guys, I've got the figs to do all of the following plus some more bits and pieces. As it stands I've got another 39 points in 800 and I can't make my mind up what to do. Another BG of some sort? Improve or enlarge a couple of existing BGs? Some stakes for the longbow? FWIW, a few points over 800 ...

Thanks for the responses guys. Having not played a game as yet I made the list based on what seems a "solid core" of stuff. I have no idea (other than what I have read here) of the relative merits of unit types and sizes vs. roles assigned to them. Martin: I was thinking last night about d...

Later Carthaginians first attempt, comments please

Hi All, Finally got my army books in the post today but still waiting on the rules. Couldn't help myself though so I had a stab at a list. :) Any advice, comments, suggestions on the following would be appreciated. I'm trying to get a solid block of Core troops to begin with and then expand with &qu...

You'll find the epoxy might well pong a fair bit too. At least you'll get some variety in the smells! When I mentioned the epoxy I only meant for attaching the figs BTW. I just use PVA for attacking sand and other decoration too. Since we're kinda talking about modelling accidents, I once knifed mys...

As for common format...sounds good. I used Millsy's format above. Crikey! Now I wish I'd thought about it some more  :D Nice write up too BTW mate. I'm starting up some Carthaginians so this is all good stuff from my point of view! I just based by outline on all the scenario info I've writte...

Wow, I've never heard of anyone being allergic to cyanoacrylate before. Other than the kind of allergic reaction I have when I glue my fingers together ;-) It really depends on what you're doing of course. If you're talking about basing then I often use a two-part epoxy. It's pretty tough and works ...

Fabulous idea! As a FoG newbie this would be a great help. I'm still waiting on my books unfortunately so I can't comment on some of the more detailed stuff. However, I am very interested in the concept of the scenario (both historical AND ahistorical). Having some sort of template which people coul...

I agree with you flamberge regarding the animation and variety of figs for various purposes. I have a couple of H&M armies in 25/28mm - SYW Austrians and Nap French. In both cases the troops are strictly uniformed and were taught to march and fight in order. Having the figs of a similar look mat...

This is all really useful info guys. I've been looking closely at the Corvus Belli and I think I will be using those as the core and then expanding or mixing in various others. Despite the obvious quality of the Xyston the oversize nature of the figs will probably exclude them from the final mix.

Thanks again

Thanks for both the list and the other manufacturers. I have a lot of Essex stuff already for 15mm medieval so I know their level of quality, etc. I've not heard of the other company so I'll have a look at their stuff.

G'day guys! @flameberge - Thanks for the feedback. I had read that Xyston and Corvus Belli were good quality and I am a painter although I don't go to the lengths some do. I guess I am a "painter / gamer". The OG starter pack is a tempting place to start I must admit if only for the...

15mm Late Carthaginian Figure Help / Recommendations

Hi All, First post so be gentle :). Ordered my rule book and a couple of list books yesterday and am starting to think about what I need to build a Late Carthaginian force. I've been digging about the web and have found a few manufacturers of Carthaginian figs in 15mm. I'd be interested in any info ...
