Re: Is hot seat play still available?
Arminius, would you mind educating a simpleton non tech guy such as myself? Why would you want to play against yourself?Arminius wrote:Quite a long time ago I remember being able to play BA hot-seat. To do this you could accept your own challenge.
I don't seem to be able to do this anymore.

Re: Is it normal for your history to erase?
Same happened here a few days ago. The list of "completed games" was almost completely purged. The first time this happened to me was like three months ago, 20 some odd games disappeared from my complete list, then a month ago another 15-20, now this time all 197 that were left disappeare...

Re: Is it normal for your history to erase?
When you say previous games, do you mean saves locally, multiplayer games, or something else :) Cheers Pip Pip, I apologize for being vague, yes, all my completed games were expunged a couple days ago. It's not important to me and I don't really care, just wondering if its supposed to happen or not...

Re: Rommel in Normandy: Initial Assessment
While I think any WWII game should have a certain amount of historical accuracy (unless it's a totally hypothetical scenario, i.e. Operation Sea Lion), what I'm most interested in is a challenge. I enjoy sitting down at the computer, playing BA, and being engrossed in an interesting game. This is n...

Re: Rommel in Normandy: Initial Assessment
This is all true but not really possible to represent in a tactical game like BA. While strategically they may well have been a bad idea, if you were unfortunate enough to be there on one of day's when the Panther was working you were going to suffer. Making the game harder without being annoying i...

Re: Rommel in Normandy: Initial Assessment
What you guys are describing is exactly why Slitherine does not want to do these DLC's. Lets face it the AI is not exactly the greatest player and if you can bleed it out it won't pose much of a threat. These late war tanks are very strong and adding them would make the game very easy. This is why ...

Re: 17 pounder ATG
I love the 17pdr. It can take on Panzer IV's at range and kill them, Panthers with flank shots at Range and anything at point blank. There are definitely no plans to make it any more effective! So it was written and so it shall be done. That's disappointing but still my current favorite and an awes...

Re: Sherman tanks
Also not represented in the game are the sherman 76mm easy 8, many of these were converted into expedient Jumbos with a complete glacis plate from another sherman welded on. Also added armor on the sides and turret. So HVSS and HVSS up armored would be a nice addition to the game. The HVSS should re...

Re: Sherman tanks
We don't have a PTO expansion on our list at the moment. We've kicked it around quite a lot, but the mechanics didn't really seem like a good enough fit to allow us to do justice to it. There are some people who built some pacific mods I know, and there is of course the awesome Naval mod which is c...

Re: Sherman tanks
Hey, new to this site, how do change my avatar? The avatar system is pretty inflexible (it's on our long list of things to make nicer!). It currently only changes as you make more posts, or when you become a mod etc. We switched them all to Axis units to celebrate the launch of PzC, but they might ...

Re: 17 pounder ATG
Many interesting replies but dont forget a tank can be destroyed from many ways. Many tanks were leave by their team in 90% good state. So, its not necessary to hit the "front glacis" to stop a huge tank. A simple molotov coktail will be usefull for example. A good explosive munition too ...

Re: 17 pounder ATG
I agree the 17pdr had a punch. and have seen photos an talk in books of it penetrating a Tiger I...But...A KT....Don't think so. None was lost from a penetrating shot to the glacis on any known incidents, photos, etc...take a look at this thread on another forum. Quite interesting. Especial ...

Re: Sherman tanks
Sherman Jumbo was a tank that had extra armour lathered on it. Didn't help a lot, but that is the basis of the Jumbo. The 105 was a howitzer support tank variant. The Firefly of course was British. Generally the best the US had was the 76mm gun Shermans. The blame for the Sherman was doctrine that ...

Re: 17 pounder ATG
Hi, Sutg in movement of course. But stugs are very strong too. I think even from the side, its not obvious to drestroy those big tanks. Seems easier in "combat mission" "Battle for normandy for instance which have a more realistic balistic and kowlandge about weapons. But its not the...

Re: 17 pounder ATG
I think in real life, the fire from the 17pdr could take out a Tiger I with a front shot, but I'm not sure at what distance. Not at maximum range, for sure. A 17 pounder could definitely take out a king tiger from the front let alone a regular tiger. The M36 Jackson could too and it's 90mm was no w...
