Re: Field of glory V3 rules question
If I recall correctly, it depends. Based on what you wrote, it appears that the next turn is your turn. If that is the case then in your maneuver phase you would conform to the spear which could possibly open up a flank charge in your opponents next impact phase.
However, if you pursued in your ...

Re: Fighting to front and rear
I believe the Legionnaires could provide rear support to one side of the fight but not both. Don’t have the rules in front of me, but the rear rank could provide rear support to the archers in the melee phase. This might require them to turn in the maneuver phase before melee.
If a front rank ...

Re: Fighting to front and rear
You may be using an older version Terry.
The current version speaks of the Restricted Area on page 55.
P. 41 of the current version covers bases that turn when contacted on the flank or rear but appears to muddle the situation as it refers to turning using the normal rules for turning.

Re: Anyone at Historicon?
As far as I know, there are no FOG gamers in the North East (I could be wrong). What little FOG activity in the US is limited to the South (Alabama where I am) and a couple in the mid-west. I do not know of anyone else that is still playing the rules in the US.

Re: Best Place for Questions?
Does your blog include campaign rules for things such as how to deal with casualties, replacements, new units, etc? That's what I want to do, and as always, it is better not to re-invent the wheel if you already have something that works.

Re: Best Place for Questions?
Sadly you are correct in that FOG is largely a lost art in the USA. I used to be able to get 6-8 people together to play a tournament for FOG in the Gulf South but ADLG has run rampant and brought out the worst in the gaming scene (IMHO). I have a quick play version of FOG (FOG 300) on my blog ...

Re: Where can I buy a physical version of the pdf?
I don't believe there are any plans to release a physical copy of the rule book. Any official physical copies you find on Amazon will be versions 1, 2 or 3.

3.1 Death Rolls & Cohesion Tests
On page 91 of the rules, it states that if a BG must take a cohesion test and a death roll, the CT is always resolved before the effect of the death roll.
