Something I'm not clear on, as its seems a bit grey in the rules. Is your intent that in a multi-round tourney a players order of march is fixed throughout the tourney, or is it merely the first thing you do when you find out who your opponent is in the current round?

Christian (Kineas1) and I got together on Friday night for a game:

- 650 Points
- 28mm
- 6'x8' table
- 1" MU

I was playing the Mycenae-Gauls with:

- 1x Inspired Commander
- 2x Troop Commander
- 3x4 Chariots
- 2x12 Heavy Foot Warriors
- 1x6 Soldurii
- 1x8 Javelinmen

Oh yes, a few key details missing:

The 8 foot width was nice, as it meant we both had flanks we had to deal with. On the depth side, it still feels shallow, as we were on top of each other on the first turn.

Hey Steve,

I've been looking at mounted X-Bow cavalry as pretty useful in a theme setting where you can be sure to be facing knights or heavily armoured foot, in a wide open tourney setting I'm less convinced of their usefulness.

Having had a bit of time to digest the contents of the army books I've seen so more, there's a few questions that I'd like to ask to eliminate some assumptions I'm making at this time, allowing for more informed discussion in this venue and others.

That depends on the design philosophy that the developers have adopted. Are they rating troops based on their abilities solely related to the historical enemies, or by a larger scheme intended to balance the effect of differing technologies.

At least some evidence points to the latter ...

Am I correct in assuming that a second rank of Bow* doesn't shoot at impact, as its not explicity listed, or is it allowed to shoot based on the "treaded as bow except shoots less bases" covering statement.
