All very intersting. I have been tempted to try it.

Currently, I use Vallejo Smoke mixed with Vallejo thinners. the amount I thin it is depenant ont he effect I want. It works very well for me, and is a lot cleaner (being water soluble). I think I will stick with it for now.

I've used it on 15mm Gauls, the result is great, but don't believe the dip and shake. What I do is, Dip, Shake and then use a brush to remove excess fluid.

Well, we are going to give this a try with some of the suggestions already made.

We find the 800 point games just a little to much for an evening (it seems to take us an age to get a game started, to busy standing about and chatting like old women!!) so if we can get a 'mini' version working then ...

Just curious if any army types are comign to the fore as better than others....

I ask as I have heard some scuttlebut that the Numidians are the worst of the 1st supplement, so wondering if the armies are pretty even, or if certain troop types are starting to dominate....

For non-order knights and infantry I would mix it up. Looks better, probably reflects history better, and allows you to be more creative.

Of course it takes longer too.

I am about to start painting my Crusade army, havign found some resource for livery form the period (plus the ones I will make up lol) but I was wondering...

Obviously, for the religious order BGs (later crusades list) I will have BGs all of the same livery, but for the non religious order ...

Anyone?

As the title says, I'm looking for a online source for the Crusade period (early and/or late, I intend to use the minis for both so not bothered really)

Can anyone point me in a direction? Does anyone have any pics of their own??

What ever is cheapest as I tend to use them to just get in the way of the enemy BGs and there fore make it more difficult for the opponent.

Don't really see them as effective killers, so I leave that job to the HF and Elephants.

Ah well, I suppose a list for the army he had at Acre will do me for now, and it should be usable, figure wise, for a UK mainland force when that list is available.

I was wondering if someone could tell me if there is a list that will be suitable for an English army headed by Henry I. The lists in Storm of Arrows seem to be too late.

I figure the later crusader list will probably do it, but I'm not sure if the composition of the list will be right for ...
