I have posted a number of URL's previously for paper counters. Best place to start is - http://freenet-homepage.de/dirk.schoenberger/ this has "top-down" views with a 10mm sort of look to them. Many others are at http://www.juniorgeneral.org/ this site has nice side-on views. Personally I ...

I am using some "top-down" images sourced from the web in openoffice (same as MS office just don't have to pay for it). They are fantastic. I am now using them as troop proxies to try out armies. Print, stick onto the back of self adhesive vinyl floor tiles and cut out - brilliant, they lo...

So how should I treat my New Kingdom "close fighters" (DBM definition sorry) - HF, Protected, Average, Drilled, Defensive Spear, Swordsmen ? or MF but otherwise the same ? Should I re-base mace-axe men within the "spear/sword" units or as MF/HF(?), Protected, Drilled, Average, He...

How easy would any mounted troops - however they used their weapon - find it to deliver a devastating charge up a muddy (would have been muddy by charge 18 I guess) hill into a wall of (at that point) steady foot with pointy sticks pointing at the horses chests and arrows falling on them ?

Hi
Lists give max BG size for Triarii as 4 - so the 6,6,6,6,6 option would not conform to the lists.

Might look good though 8)

Personally I would like to keep the rulebook as pristine as possible. A PDF QRS can take the damage from drink spills, tugging matches with 12 year old wargamers etc and leave my nice shiny book intact :-)

The max movement is 7MU , so a 4" stick and a 3" stick would be enough ? I plan to make a few out of aluminium. Isn't there a nice triangle that would work , a 3,4,5 or 2,3,4 or something like that ? There are a nice set of measurement devices (in mm and inches) on the French site at http...

Paper Armies

Why not post a PDF of the neat top-down views used in the rule book diagrams ? If configured to match the Roman and Carthaginian Starter armies in the book new players could get a head start ! Not sure if copyright etc would allow this. Alternatively there are a couple of web sites with paper armies...
