This is going to sound odd, but can someone insert the 1.05 patch to this thread? For some reason, the 1.06 doesn't work on my computer even though the 1.05 worked fine. I have no explanation as to why, and I'm not enough of a techie to solve it myself.

Assuming v1.05 beta and 1.06 are the same, than it is clearly the best patch thus far. I had to go back to 1.05 as 1.06 seemed to create some unique problems on my system.

OK. I don't know what is happening with v1.06, but it seems to be failing on my computer. First off, it doesn't jive with my Vista and I keep getting some weirdo message about my Vista being reset to "basic" (???). Then, it seem to run fine when loading, but as soon as I enter a game, the ...

Can you link me the v1.04 editor? Something I'm doing is creating all kinds of problems, and my editor file doesn't seem to have a number on it, so I'm wondering if it may be 1.0.

Asumming you successfully make these changes to the map and/or scenario, can they still run in v1.05 if the original editor is from a previous patch? Or is there another editor needed for that patch?

Can someone link the v1.05 or v1.06 editor?

I need it as my previous mods don't translate over.

Re: Using the editor.

I am trying to add a single city. I open the editor, load ww2 map file, added a city with the correct nationality, saved as "test.map". I load scenario 1939 and save it as "test.scn". The city is still there. Test.map, Test.scn, and the Test txt file go to the appropriate folder...

Awesome, guys, thanks for the info. Since I've done almost everything there is to do on the standard game, I
m interested in creating my own mod. If I can figure out how to make it work, I'd love to try and build my own mod.

How does one go about opening the editor? This is probably a stupid question, but I'm not seeing it in the menu.

Idea: Maybe each city should have it's own oil "reserve", so that if an Axis army captures an enemy city, they would receive the oil that is stored there. It would then be advantageous for the Axis to storm into France and Russia and capture as many cities as possible in the hsortest time ...

Wow in the 1941 campaign the Axis run out of fuel very quickly, so I had to rely on infantry however it very costly in manpower; its February 1943 and the Germans have only 200 manpower left (the Italians have more now). I will have to rely on the Axis allies to keep up the offensive. Yep, 1941 is ...

I'll throw out my $.02... It's a great $50 expense, I wouldn 't bother waiting for a manual to make the decision. I've wasted $50 or more on many computer games, and I don't think I've ever got more use out of the money than I have with this game. And, just to disclose all biases, I have absolutely ...

Same goes for me. The North African campaign has become pretty much unwinnable for the Axis unless you are willing to commit troops from continental Europe to the fight (I do). All the way up until 1.05, you could wait for the Allies to attack en masse and flank them on each side once they proceed p...

Taking France by July of '40 is sufficient to prepare for and successfully invade Russia by June '41. I try to set an invasion date for Russia of June 2, 1940- 20 days before the historical start of the war. Don't measure your success by the time it takes to sack France, more importantly the Axis ne...

New 1.05 beta gets Panzer's seal of approval

Good changes, improved game. I'm not sure if this was an intended consequence of the new patch, but the war becomes much more tenuous for the Axis early on with the changes. It is now possible to stall out for a while in Poland and Paris seems much stronger. If the Germans don't steamroll, the game ...

Either or, but normally I play against the AI due to time constraints. I find the philosophy works against both, although a human player can make for some odd scenarios.

You don't build planes until your tanks and infantry are "maxed out development"? So your waiting till end game to buy air? That's amazing. Yup. I haven't found much advantage to having large quantities of aircraft in the French and Russian campaigns. I'm big on investing in labs, so I us...

Buying tanks for the Germans is very much a double edge sword, you need them to attack and it does ease the manpower somewhat, but chewes the heck out of your oil. :) But I agree I normally buy tanks and planes first, I've normally ignored labs until after France opting for leaders and units first....
