Someone posted that they had treaties with the rival wizards. I've never seen that. I'm playing on Max difficulty, except I'm using 11 picks instead of 10, because I consider 11 books the standard from Classic and many strategies rely on having 1 1 picks to work with. Yeah, Draconians aren't supposed to get the Mechanicians Guild either, but they do in this game. They can also make Catapults, which they shouldn't be able to do.

I'm not sure about how Earth to Mud works. I noticed the same thing, but I interpreted it as applying a one-time de-buff instead of making mud on the ground. It looked like all units in the area got a debuff that lasted into the following turns.

The AI does still build ships, but not like in Classic. And also they seem not to build Warships, so if you make a stack of 3-4 Warships you can win every naval battle. I'm surprised about the Lizardmen though. What settings do you use? I use max difficulty on everything, except I give myself 11 boo...

13) The crazy starting lineup of units, almost always with ranged units in the front and melee units in the back. Also in cities with ranged units blocking the door and melee units on the edges difficult to maneuver toward the gate.

I agree mostly, but... In Classic I never build naval units unless its some really bizarre scenario. In this game naval units are a little more worthwhile, mainly right now because there are so many Lizardmen everywhere. With 2 or 3 Warships you can intercept many of these Lizardmen armies and deal ...

Enemy artifacts

I've noticed that when you kill a hero with artifacts and win the battle you don't get the artifacts like you did in classic. But worse, the opponent actually retains the artifact! How can this be? This needs to be fixed.

I'll also add Lizardmen gone crazy. IN every game the map ends up getting filled with crappy huge Lizardmen towns. The you are forced to either take a -5 Fame penalty for razing these stink holes or fill your empire with crappy Lizard towns that take forever to do anything. For sure the cost of Liza...

Warships should have Scouting

It always annoyed me that they didn't have Scouting in the first game. Of course Warships should have scouting, this was a primary function of sailing ships and with the crow's nest of course they can see long distances. Indeed I would give them Scouting II.

Depends on for what exactly. With these damned towers, the most important thing is either Regeneration or Magic Immunity. Change focus without re-centering

The re-centering in battle is highly annoying. Instead, can the screen remain as it it unless the unit being focused is off the screen, and then only move the screen enough to show the unit, don't re-center the screen entirely. I think this would be a huge improvement.

I've also seen some weird stuff going the other way. I've had single figure units with like 10 attack do 20+ damage, at least that's what is shown on the screen.
