Re: Azul Infanterie is utterly hilarious in certain situations
Not a big problem, a Tiger I cant get hurt a lot in 1943 in the vanilla game version. But you are right, its always better to have one ammo left for the worst case scenario.

Re: Azul Infanterie is utterly hilarious in certain situations
But in this particular case, Dir is an infantry hero and tanks already get overrun, so the only hero you could give is ignore entrenchment. That might be ok if the Tiger had vigilant, but I prefer giving ignore entrenchment to Azul infantry. Unlike tanks, they can access the close defence of target...

Re: Azul Infanterie is utterly hilarious in certain situations
Is it perhaps too powerful? It just goes through enemy units like butter, the only limit is how much ammo it has. Give the heroes to a Tiger I + 1,5x rapid fire and some overstrength. 6 ammo ==> 6 kills, doesnt matter what you attack. Some hero combinations are just broken. Either you dont use them...

Re: AO: how many Panzer "divisions" to aim for by the mid to late game?
I am not sure what 1944 and beyond will bring, but in PC1, Prokhorovka was a peak for your core deployment and in PC2, I can usually field less than two full divisions, often cutting back on infantry or tanks, or the air wing, depending on the scenario. Yeah, during kursk your army is at a maximum,...

Re: Axis Operations - Historical or alternative path?
You already mentioned two good arguments. In the historical path you are most of the time still attacking, but somehow you still lose. There are just no mechanics for defensiv scenarios, the AI is just too stupid. It never feels like you are losing the war. In 1945 there are some stupid missions to ...

Re: AO: how many Panzer "divisions" to aim for by the mid to late game?
These traits are completly unbalanced. In SCW this trait is no problem, in 1944 its game over. I am more a fan of slider to make it harder/easier. More/less prestige; more/less stronger units and so on...if I am manipulating the game by picking dpoor abilities on purpose I wont have fun. Its like pl...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2
Introduction: First, a massive shout-out to the creators of PanzerCorp1-Grandcampaign, AO Redone and Storm Over Europe for modding a new system of hero management, enabling players to purchase heroes with prestige at the start of each scenario. Yes indeed, but...for me this led to a core that is ev...

Re: AO: how many Panzer "divisions" to aim for by the mid to late game?
How many tanks you use dictates the terrain, the mission, the enemy of course. I wish it would be like that. But I cant name 2-3 scenarios where you actually should change your core big time. Of course not something like Crete, where you just cant use several units. Next time no heroes. But everyth...

KOLOZSVAR Calm before the storm, easy map like you say, no problem with it. BATTLE OF PLOESTI Not that hard, it even feels like the vanilla one is harder. It might have bugged a bit, the orange elite devision came in pretty late...not sure what they did or if they should defend an area instead of g...

How many core slots do you have?
I think even in Kursk with >200 core slots you cant field half of what are mentioned and you did not even name some air units.

OPERATION PANZERSCHRECK
Well, always have been a strange mission. You have to kill a whole high end army of your ally, to make them your ally again.
Not sure if bugged or intended, the russians did not really attack at full strenght. I would say about 50% of their ground units did not move.

LVOV 1944 You called it medium yourself, and yeah it is. The map doesnt really work for me, for once the german defenses were strong enough to stop the russian until my core arrived. And we all know that the AI cant cross a river, when there is proper defense. So I easily killed everything, the las...

Re: AO: how many Panzer "divisions" to aim for by the mid to late game?
The difference is your recon converted tanks are engaging an active enemy in a fluid battlefield, What do you mean by converting? I am only supporting my tanks with the recon trait, makes it easier for a <1 star unit to overrun something. I am always playing as hard as I can handle, I need my steam...

COTENTIN I am fine with more scenarios on the western front and the idea behind this is fine. Just a little unrealistic, that your whole cores moves thousands of kilometers from east to west and back again...is the Breitspuhrbahn already in use? :D The whole map is a precision landing, I took every...

Re: AO: how many Panzer "divisions" to aim for by the mid to late game?
Following Horseman's AARs and other discussions of historical core composition, I think of a Panzer division in game as 2-3 Panzer units, 2-3 infantry and 2-3 artillery with recon, AT and AA supports. The question is how are you playing the game, which settings? Are you playing "story mode&quo...

In the eastern part, north of Caen, there are still airports that can be conquered quite easily Well, since you cant reach the battleships with your bombers, you need rommels units to get there first to take the airfields, but they take heavy damage. Thats what it makes somehow unsual. Riga 1944 Su...

Re: Passive AI in Axis Operations 1940's
I sometimes have the them issue, but restarting a campaign normally helps. Or loading an old scenario.
Like andrea said, try reinstalling the game.
You can use cheatcode "setany iseeyou 1" to have a better look on the AI movements...to see, if its working or not.
