Re: ao'45 and pacific status
I have found the AOs so far satisfying from a gameplay and narrative standpoint (if a bit obnoxious to have my prestige pool drained by the AI during the Spanish Civil War AO). I will happily future AOs. Especially with Kerensky teasing us with an invasion of the USA being featured in a future AO.

"Buying" Heroes
Being randomly awarded heroes is very hit and miss in the sense where the player can get anywhere from extremely powerful hero combinations to completely redundant and can seriously interfere with how the player may choose to envisage their battlegroup (say a player wants to go heavy on aircraft, th...

Re: (AO1944 Spoilers) Believed AO 1944 campaign composition
Not really. If you look at the date and the goals of this mission it looks more like an ahistoric mission. Seriously. This is the historical Minsk Offensive in 1944 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsk_offensive And this is what's shown from the Minsk Offensive scenario in the AO 1944 : htt...

Re: (AO1944 Spoilers) Believed AO 1944 campaign composition
Judging from the screenshots the Minsk Offensive scenario represents a historical battle that was part of the Operation Bagration. Not really. Re: (AO1944 Spoilers) Believed AO 1944 campaign composition
Judging from the screenshots the Minsk Offensive scenario represents a historical battle that was part of the Operation Bagration. Also the Battle of Ploiesti could be an air-only scenario representing the historical bombardment of the Ploiesti refineries by Western Allies in1944. The Riga scenario ...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
The new AO 1944 Dev Diary https://www.slitherine.com/news/panzer- ... oming-soon has left me positively salivating. Two separate campaigns, awesome! And I can only imagine what they'll do for AO 1945.
As that meme goes : shut up and take my money.

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
I'm really jealous of the beta testers that are privy to AO 1944. Are we gonna be able to win the war in the east if we arrive from a Victory Path AO 1943 and do really well in AO 1944?

Re: Operation Roland - a bit of a joke?
I think what the OP encountered is the intractable problem that imported cores will be much more likely to be very powerful compared to any starting core for a given campaign. Exactly how more powerful, it is unknown and thus ultimately impossible to account for. The only thing that would solve it w...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
If we are sent to the Western Front in 1944, putting Prudent/Evasive/Consolidator + Max Overstrength with 3+ stars on Allied aircraft can really drive home the feeling of "local air superiority is the best you can hope for". A similar combo can be used enemy tanks on the Eastern Front to d...

Long Hero lists - Alphabetical Sorting by (First) Trait
It can be quite a busywork to manage a very large list of heroes (common for any AO cores that have been imported since the Spanish Civil War). While a search/filtering function would be great, a simpler feature can still go a long way in terms of Quality of Life : sorting heroes in alphabetical ord...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
Since you guys are talking about 1944 and 1945 in here, I have a question. Do you think it's time to see some mega Allied heroes? Units that are hero stacked to the point where they have access to broken hero combos that the player has? While I'm always mentioning we don't balance around that sort ...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
Alternatively, if we are sent West, it's a more self-contained experience (it's not influenced by previous AOs and can be plausibly won without previous AO successes in the same way they chose to do for AO 1943). The advantage of AO 1944 taking place on the Western Front is that it allows the Easter...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
Well. AO1943 has been quite a ride, huh. As expected, the Victory Path in AO 1943 doesn't prevent things from going historically bad in the Northern and Central Sectors of the Eastern Front (in fact, for the Northern Sector ahistorically bad with the lifting of the Leningrad siege by the end of 1943...

Re: Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
I really can't say anything to confirm or deny what is coming, even denials would give away too much information on what is planned. It does make me realize something though. I think in future we might have to obscure scenario names, because just knowing geographical locations is spoilerific...

Let's get ahead of ourselves : Axis Operations 1944/1945
<<ATTENTION! This thread contains spoilers of the Axis Operations 1943 Dev Diary 1 spoilers! You have been warned!>> So. As it has been stated in Dev Diary 1 for AO 1943, winning at Kursk opens a fictional campaign for securing the Caucasus (including Stalingrad) "for real this time". Now,...

Refinements for Heroic Showdown Challenge
The Heroes assigned via the Heroic Showdown Challenge seem to be a bit random resulting in pointless Hero+Unit combinations. (Quick aside : Would it be possible to assign heroes to units deployed during the scenario as well? The reinforcements and the like) As such, here are my suggested refinements...
