Re: Open terrain looking like rough
I for one disagree. I like the overlap. And we need to see the rough on the rough tile.
If the current overlap is an issue for some players, I guess it could be made a bit smaller :
Indeed. I think you are images from FOG medieval which is better indeed.
You can see on the following ...

Re: Open terrain looking like rough
Plus that it requires more attention to detail (which in my view IS is a PLUS). And actual terrain is revealed through the use of tooltips anyway.
I'm playing a strategy game because I like to think that if I won, it is because I was better at strategy than by opponent, not because I have ...

Re: Open terrain looking like rough
It's probably that indeed, and it is extremely confusinh. I would much prefer an empty tile without any transition/overlap .
I might have been better if the transition had been done the other way round ...

Open terrain looking like rough
Some open terrain tiles looks similar to rough terrain. The elephant on the picture is on a open tile but it is surrounded by rough. Is it a bug or a feature ?

Re: Epic battles not as good as DLC campaigns
I actually play mostly epic battles (both SP and MP), and I hate campains
The reason I hate campains is because I don't want the battle I'm playing to depend on the result of the previous battle, as simple as that.
I'm however interested in playing all the battles of a campain and a "no campain ...

I'm currently ready "Sword in the Storm" by David Gemmel (*** SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT ***)
In the book you have Keltoi ast Stones which are roughly celtic and roman, and I guy explain that the advantage of short swords (used by the Stones i.e. the Romans) vs long swords (barbarians)

Re: Byzantine Lancers: how to use
50% Bow is very weak
Byzantines lancers are 4 "things" units (BG I think ?), so 50% is equivalent un 100% of light horse archer. Also Tagmatics are superior , which enhance the bow capabilities.
Actually, because of the way the shooting calculations work (to mimic the tabletop rules), a ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread on Rules
I thought autobreak worked only when the unit had to do a cohesion test. But the other I had the two units of the same melee autobreaking which was a bit suprising.
I guess then that the autobreak is triggered only on damage whatever the result of the fight (even if it "wins"). Am I right ?

Re: Byzantium Endures - Tournament
Maybe the loser in 75/74 should follow the same formula 60-difference which will give in that case 59. Just a suggestion.

Re: Byzantine Lancers: how to use
Are we trying here to solve a problem which doesn't exist ?
I mean if the byzantine lancers were too expensive, byzantine should be at a disadvantage vs other armies.
This should results in byzantine doing less well in the current tournament. This is not what I see in my case (even though I'm ...

Re: Byzantium Endures - Tournament
I am though concerned about BMAXIMUS point on 65/64 and indeed what about in an extreme game a 75/74 score, is it really that in a 75/74 game ( lots of breaks and a couple of rallies in the last turn) that the winner would score 61 and the looser 74? If so surely the winners score 60+ rule needs ...

Re: Byzantium Endures - Tournament
This score is actually correct:
Winner scored 60 + difference between enemy and own rout % = 60 + 2 = 62
Loser scored enemy rout % = 62
Does that mean that in the even of o 65/64 game , the winner will score 61 but the loser 64 which is more ?
Also, it looks like no army broke therefore ...

Re: Byzantine Lancers: how to use
- Realistically speaking, being able to evade means being much faster. What would make them faster than pure lancers like say the Frankish you mention ? Training ? Horse breeds ? Lighter equipment ? ... ?
The way I understand it is, evading (like pushing forward) is not a capability but a ...

UI suggestion : dynamic light condition
I saw that the light conditions changes sometime at the end of game. It would be nice to have the light condition changing during the game with each turn. That way you could feel the end of the day coming.
Alternatively could this be done via moding ?
