I had asked this of JD a while back, and he indicated that a current beta tester could get with the HMGS folks and have them contact him (JD) indicating there was interest. I assume then it woudl be up to JD to give the HMGS folks approval for teh event and the beta tester coudl then get the event o...

Which part of "licensing" official lines to other venders has anything to do with Osprey or Slitherine manufaturing or selling minis? Like it or not, it is a business model that works.

Given that Osprey has a rather mixed record as to the historical accuracy in it's publications and especially in the depictions I'm less then sure I want to see 'official' minis (that probably would have to adhere to what is stated and shown in the corresponding Osprey publications). I don't necess...

While I am not a proponent for "use our minis, our rules, our etc.." I do favor "support" for the full components of a game via a single manufacturer. I mean can you imagine if you went to play Monopoly and had to go to vender X to get the buildings, vender B for the property car...

FoW can attest its sucess to the concept of miniatures being an integral part of user buy in. It would be nice if FoG could somehow follow suit.

An 800 point army, also one which has relatively cheap troops, so is larger than average
You are'nt kidding! My original "guess" for troops was low, so the LGS just got a bump in my order!!

But heck who doesn't want a horde of Carthagins!!!!

Now mind the fact that I am new to Ancients and have not even seen FoG yet, but I am curious about the whole push back issue. I completely understand the amount of time movement can consume from my years of WFB & 40K but to a small extent this has been part of the fun in trying to out-maneuver y...

OK so is this correct? Heavy foot 4 15mm [20mm] Medium foot 3 or 4 20mm [30mm] Light foot 2 20mm [30mm] Base widths are 40mm for 15mm [ 60mm for 25/28mm.] Meaning in 15mm heavy foot is 40*15 with 4 men, but Medium Foot with the same or fewer men is 40*20 and light foot with 2 men is also 40*20? Why ...

Excellent, thank you for the prompt reply.
Incidentally Carthaginians (and Romans) are the armies used for most of the examples and diagrams in the rule book, as well as many of the photographs.
OK, OK...you sold me...2 copies on pre-order!

I forgot one other question/clarification. So is command a single unit, or does it simply follow the basing of the like units. In other words if I have a some Celtiberian Cav units (3 Horses on a 40*30), what would the command unit be composed of (3 on a 40*30 or 1 on a 40*40 or less ))? Thanks agai...

Fog Base Size Dilemma ...

Here is my dilemma; I am new to Historical and ancient gaming in particular, but am currently in the process of painting a Carthaginian army in 15mm. I have no rule sets and am so intrigued by FoG I am going to wait for it. Trouble is I have no way to know how to base my men or base sizes since I do...
