Amazing to see niki is still at it even after all these years. Fantastic work, hope to play it someday.

Re: New project Star Wars mods. Tomáš
A long, long time ago, in a galax ... no, wait, it was actually here in our galaxy, I was working on a PzC Star Wars mod for a long time. I lost a ton of stuff I had created to a HD crash and couldn't bring myself to redo it all ... however, some things survived, among them a ton of unit graphics I ...

Re: Kriegsmarine - Thumbs Down
This was the first DLC I tried since Morning Sun, since from memory it seemed to be a subject matter the OOB engine could be well suited to.
Alas, I have to agree with most criticism posted herein.
One of my main gripes with Morning Sun was how it totally failed to represent what I feel the China ...

Aww. Does anyone know the movie Bedazzled?
It's a comedy film I really like. In it, Brendan Fraser gets to ask the devil him- or rather herself (played by Liz Hurley) to grant him wishes.
The wishes ARE indeed granted, however the devil masterfully twists them so that they end up being not QUITE ...

Hey there bebro, good to see you. :)
Well, indeed the Chinese do have a bit more arty, air and tanks than they did field historically, simply because having every battle (with few exceptions) with 95% infantry on the enemy side would not be that interesting IMO. Also they did receive substantial ...

Re: Morning Sun Personal Opinion
Well, I'm kinda late to the party to this one - but here's my $0.02.
I once played a WW1 game - it's name escapes me now. It had all the parts in place, the infantry, the machine guns, the howitzers, the tanks, you name it. And it wasn't a bad game, not spectacular either, but solid.
Just, the way ...

Re: Names on units
Pointing out the obvious: You're not actually playing against Japan in the tutorial but against a "sparring partner" which is american as well.
I presume the idea is that it's like in an actual bootcamp, where opponents are also "friendlies" which merely stand in as opponents.

Re: Paratroopers and efficiency
My idea, suggested elsewhere, was to give paras a "timer" akin to that of aircraft.
Let's say 5 turns, reset when doing nothing for a turn in supply ... or something like that.
Anyway, the idea would be that paras could operate at full efficiency for 5 turns - enought to close in on a defended ...

Re: B17
Slots are irrelevant. All that matters is the amount of supply the carriers generate.
Personally, I'm fine with this abstraction and often shuffled around "excess planes" when I only had smaller carriers to deploy.
You seem to have a strange fascination about extremely strict rules. :P

Re: B17
Things were exactly the same in PzC, so I'm not sure what you expected?
I'd even say in PzC captured units were often actually useful, whilst - even with the change in the upcoming patch - they are more like a gimmick in OOB.

Re: Replayability
It's just not replayable for everyone.
The scenarios are always the same and play out in the same way, and when all is said and done, it's pretty meaningless which commanders you unlock and which units you assign them to, which other secondary goals you pursue or not etc. - the only replayability ...

The impressions thread got a bit long, I am sorry I don't recall what particularly bothered you or not in that regard.
Nor did I expect you to - or anyone else. Thus I thought I'd mention it.
This is stuff for another thread, actually
Agreed.

Re: Repairable captured units
OoBPac seems to rather take the "temporary asset for this scenario and possibly longer if you are lucky" approach.
Well, this was nothing that massively bothered me, of course - I think I hardly made mention of it in my impressions thread.

Re: Repairable captured units
One of the mechanics that makes total sense in theory but no sense at all in practice.
What I mean, OF COURSE it's totally rational not to be able to repair captured units. But then again, why even have those units in the first place? They're going to be completely useless in no time. One of the ...

Re: Unit sugestions
I dunno, I guess the actual stats of most of these would be virtually identical to already existing units, so where's the gain?
Maybe the Artistocrats should consider publishing unit packs like Paradox' sprite packs. So they could have an additional revenue stream and you purists would get your ...

Re: AI and low-strength units
Since the AI can't build/spawn units I would actually give it more resources to be able to repair.

I would prefer the AI to act more like a human (less artificial :D ), withdraw & repair and then move forward again. Makes for a more dynamic game.
I'm happy with Artistocrats decision. Go ...

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions
Indeed, i am quite aware of that, however i would still prefer to have control over the initial landings myself. This would go for all scenarios that include assaulting an enemy shoreline, when else are we gonna get to use the Specializations that deal with this 8) You and me both know there was ...

Yeah, I meant I thought there were "special" mine events unrelated to the actual mines.
Those I uncover with my destroyers, obviously.
