Got it to work!

Well for some reason the first time I unzipped the files into the game directory, they didn't seem to all copy over correctly. I tried it again and it worked perfectly. So the .zip does work for us Vista users!

Now onto my PBEM...

The zip version didn't resolve the issue. The game still thinks it's at version 1.0 even after I copied and pasted the files over the previous ones.
