I think that's right. I experienced it all the time. If the support unit is touching an enemy unit it won't give support.

That's how I play now to speed up the game and see fluid animations: I "Alt Tab" the game after hitting "next turn". I can see the CPU % in the corner of my screen. As soon as it gets back to low % I get back to the game to see the animations unfolding. That's the only way I don'...

Also, just to make sure: It doesn't work like the normal repair. You have to open the support ship, click on the repair button and then click on the ship you want to repair...

It happened to me once. To select it I went in the "Deployed" units menu and clicked on it there. It will show on map and will be selected. Then you can move it.

You say" Higgins boats, not in action at all so far..." but I used them for a while, I think they're available at Guadalcanal IIRC.

I think he means shallow water that looks like beaches. You can't unload there, you need to go usually one hex further inland.

Higgins boats are available fairly early (I don't remember exactly when though...), but they're kind of "hidden" in the transports choices (you have to scroll down to discover them...

If there's no numbers then the Commander is ready to be attached to your land unit as soon as you have one deployed in the next scenario if not in this one...

It's probably a land Commander that was captured or wounded in previous scenario (unit killed).

In my case, I didn't find any way to get rid of it from the screen and had to live with it till the next scenario. Ater a while you get used to it and don't see it anymore...

There's 2 or 3 hexes it could be on the right not being touched by sonar...

It did happen to me in many scenarios so far. To remedy, I click on the unit, then click with the right button anywhere on the map then I use the left button to move. Usually it works right away but sometimes I have to do this a couple of times before it goes back on track and then I'm good to go......

You can click a second time to repair it at full strenght...

I think it points to the ship, not to the land...

Well, just try it at difficulty level 5 if this level is too easy for you, no?

Yep, I totally regret the choice I made early in the campaign now... I badly need the landing craft specialization after Guadalcanal...

You definitely want to have some recon planes like the Kingfisher in your airforce (they cost only 1 supply, not 2) and they never have to land on Carriers or airfields... (except if you need to repair them). Look into "Recon" section to buy them, not in the "Fighters" section.

About the strategic map, it's hard to see the VP's (golden rings) on the scenario after Guadalcanal, US campaign (I can't recall the exact name of the scenario).
