Following up to my original post on Blue Screen problems. Hopefully its not too soon to call, but since applying the recent patch, I have not experienced a Blue Screen crash. :D Additionally, although I'm not sure its related, I was using jack_w's Classic Wargame Map Mod on my un-patched program. Wo...

Speaking from the Axis position on Russian Winters, I love what the patch has done to the Russian response in 1941 and 42'. Pre-patch, the Russian hordes stacked up 10 corps deep by 1942 opposite my positions, while post patch has given me a fighting chance to break through during summer play, and r...

Concerning air attacks on Great Britain, I note that the Axis player can strike any target within range of their continental based aircraft, but they can not follow up with movement of the air unit until they actually own the land terrain. Once hexes inside Britain are occupied by land units, aircra...

Your mod sounds exciting. Looking forward to playing. Did you use the Beta Editor to do this, or some other method?

Single player. Sometimes crashes from initial start, when loading the game. Sometimes crashes after the selected Axis or Allies screen attempts to start the game.

This happens when the game is either loading the first entry screen, or attempting to start once I've selected my opponents.

Appreciate your comments. Not sure where the problem is as well. Thought it might have something to do with the initial "LOW-RAM" settings, but I have two separate versions of Commander running on different drives. One has a LOW_RAM setting of 1, the other has a setting of 2. Both crash to...

I agree on the balance being just about right. The current detail allows the player to focus more on the pleasures of manuever vice politics and logistics. This also reduces confusion and frustration when fighting battles on multiple fronts, as must be done to win. I find the immersion factor very h...

Alaric, I have much enjoyed reading your posts on this and the Matrix Boards. Several of your posts have inspired me with both the interest and the "clues" to do some Modding on my own. Modding does increase the enjoyment factor in any game. Very helpful and well done. Keep up the good wor...

In Defense of Simplicity

Having read many of the posts suggesting increased complexity for this game, I would like to add some balance from the normally quiet minority, in defense of retaining the sense of simplicity characteristic of the current version. While I do applaud many of the suggestions which appear to add some d...
