Harbour Market
I'm just learning (playing my second game) Harbor Market.jpg[/attachment] Gates of Troy and found something I don't understand and could not find in the manual. On the screen print it shows Production for various commodities. If this is additional production for these commodities where is it reflect...

Re: Movement
For a given unit type, such as medium foot, it doesn't seem right that that unit will move at the same pace uphill or downhill, in clear terrain or in marsh or heavy forest.

Movement
It strikes me as odd that units can move at the same pace going uphill, through marsh, through heavy woods or rough terrain as through open terrain. If nothing else, maintaining such a pace in non-clear terrain would result in negative consequences such as excessive fatigue (reduced effectiveness), ...

Re: Newbie
So what I think you're saying is both sides start with the same number of points. A further question: does the difficulty level affect the starting point relationship?

Re: Newbie
I've now played about a dozen Quick Battles trying to learn the game. I've noticed that sometimes the player's starting manpower strength is weaker and sometimes stronger than the AI's. Sometimes the difference is substantial, several thousand troops. I'm basing this observation strictly on open bat...

Re: Newbie
Thank you for all your help. This game is a lot more complex than I expected. I'm going to devote a lot more time to studying it. I had played FOG I, which is pretty simple and straightforward and I expected FOG II to be a prettied up version of it.

Re: Newbie
First, thank you for taking the time to help me along. I am aware of how to move leaders around, but supposedly you can reassign units to different leaders. For example, one leader's command has 14 units, another's has 8 units. You want to make the commands more equal in size by transferring units f...

Re: Newbie
A question: how do you reassign units to leaders? All I found in the manual was that it can only be done during the deployment phase, but not how to do it.

Re: Newbie
The archers were massed bows on a hill, the spearmen were attacking uphill. To the best of my recollection the irregular infantry was on clear terrain, the the three hoplites attacked in a line, no flanking. I will turn on the detail. At this point, it's so much gibberish to me since I don't underst...

I just started playing FOG II. I've played five games, small custom battles, and I see things that I don't understand (I am plowing through the manual) and some things that don't make sense to me. I see units rout and I see other units retreat. The number of units routing is much larger than the num...

Re: Mouse Movement
Tried it with shadows off, the game runs faster and the cursor movement is acceptable. Thank you for your help.

Re: Mouse Movement
Will this fix or improve the cursor issue? You mentioned the game running slow, but that's not an issue, I can wait some extra seconds.

Re: Mouse Movement
Yes, I had it set at .5, I'll try .1. But I saw no difference between the default setting and .5.
I tried windowed mode instead of full screen and saw a small improvement but it also seemed as if the game ran slower.

Re: Mouse Movement
As I said, no other software, game or otherwise, has this issue so I'm hesitant about messing around with the video card which may create problems for them. I believe the problem is in FOGII and that's where you should look for a solution. Based on the posts I've seen I'm not the only one experienci...

Mouse Movement
I just got FOGII and played my first game and am having the issue where a small movement of the mouse results in a large movement of the cursor making things very difficult. I also have FOGI and have no cursor issues , nor with any other game. So it's a FOGII issue.
