Mouse Movement
Mouse Movement
I just got FOGII and played my first game and am having the issue where a small movement of the mouse results in a large movement of the cursor making things very difficult. I also have FOGI and have no cursor issues , nor with any other game. So it's a FOGII issue.
Re: Mouse Movement
Are you running any specific mouse software in your Windows?
Re: Mouse Movement
No. Vanilla Windows.

Re: Mouse Movement
Hit SHIFT+Q and check the framerate. If it is very low then that can cause mouse lag.
Alternatively, if it is very high then you may have the frame buffering set too high (you can usually tweak this in the control panel for the video card).
Also try running in Windowed mode (borderless will look the same as fullscreen, but tends to suffer less from frame buffering).
Cheers

Re: Mouse Movement
As I said, no other software, game or otherwise, has this issue so I'm hesitant about messing around with the video card which may create problems for them. I believe the problem is in FOGII and that's where you should look for a solution. Based on the posts I've seen I'm not the only one experiencing this problem but I don't understand why everyone isn't.

I might be stating the obvious, but have you tried altering the Scroll Speed in Options?warnevada wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 8:07 pm As I said, no other software, game or otherwise, has this issue so I'm hesitant about messing around with the video card which may create problems for them. It's on the second Options page, go into Options and click this button to get to the second page:

Then adjust the Scroll Speed by clicking the button. Mine starts at 1.0, by repeated clicking you can take it up to 2.0 and then it goes back to 0.1. It sounds like you will need a very low setting.

Re: Mouse Movement
You can check the frame rate, and try running in Windowed mode without "messing around" with anything. Without more data we can't narrow down the issue. It is likely driver related, and the interaction between game and driver is unique per system.warnevada wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 8:07 pm As I said, no other software, game or otherwise, has this issue so I'm hesitant about messing around with the video card which may create problems for them. Re: Mouse Movement
Yes, I had it set at .5, I'll try .1. But I saw no difference between the default setting and .5.
I tried windowed mode instead of full screen and saw a small improvement but it also seemed as if the game ran slower.

Attach a DxDiag report file to your message?
How to get a DxDiag report file:
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8/10 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8/10)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message

Re: Mouse Movement
The issue is related with your video card.
The game requires a 1GB VRAM dedicated video card, unfortunately you have only a graphic chip with 64MB.
So the game will run slowly.
Try thew suggestion offered:
1) Turn shadows Off. (Settings)
2) Turn off anti-aliasing. (Although it is off by default) (Settings)
3) Turn off other programs running concurrently.

Re: Mouse Movement
Will this fix or improve the cursor issue? You mentioned the game running slow, but that's not an issue, I can wait some extra seconds.
Re: Mouse Movement
Running slowly might have an impact on the movement of the cursor.
Re: Mouse Movement
Tried it with shadows off, the game runs faster and the cursor movement is acceptable. Thank you for your help.
