I would definitely buy an Allied Atlantic campaign. Kriegsmarine was fun, but wildly ahistorical. The submarine mechanics could indeed use improvement, though.

The 17cm K 18 outranges every artillery unit in the game, except for the Krupp railway gun. The incredible range far outweighed the one extra damage of the 21cm, in my opinion. Enemy artillery will be helpless.

Aircraft have lower efficiency when they take off, but it goes away the next turn. The "Scrambling" specialization reduces it for fighters, IIRC.

If you haven't seen it the movie Midway is a great film, dramatizing the battle, as well as the events leading up to it. I would describe it as a classic war film, but with modern special effects.

In my experience, unmoved destroyers do perform an automatic sonar sweep at the end of the turn. However, since it's the end of the turn, there's no chance to attack the submarine. I just looked in the Unit Navigator, and there are no Canadian Engineers 42! And Canadian Engineers 43 aren't available until 11/30/1943. Did they forget to create them, or is there a specific reason for the lack of engineers?

I agree that they are strangely worded at times. Also, it appears that a British officer is giving the US briefings.

The objectives weren't clear on the second one, the instructions made me think I was to sit tight and wait for orders to pursue the secondary objectives. I also found that confusing. Is finishing the secondary objectives a primary objective? Will there be a prompt to advance to take them? I decided...

Does one faction's specializations effects units of the other factions? For instance, will metal detectors only be for British Engineers, or all Allied Engineers?
