Awesome army and very nice flags, but you can be sure that the emperor will execute the standard bearers, the sacred banners can´t be kept in this condition. Tattered flags were a mark of distinction (see the rags that were cherished by Gustavus' regiments in Brzezinski's Osprey). In the old mercen...

15mm. 28mm are generally great miniatures, plenty of details... but sorry, units in 28mm seems too small for me. I always see games in 28mm like if it was skirmishes instead big battles. Of course, gaming in 10mm or 6mm, you get more "crowded" units but... I little bit of details is not so...

Looks nice., congratulations!

Most wargamers usually don't take care about this little terrain details so ... double congratulations!

And about dog problem... that's the reason I trained my cat to don't move closer to my miniatures. ( blessed electrified game table... )

Cheers!

I started to play wargames 15 years ago, then I was 14 years old, and I translated the most of rules sets that I used, Including the early versions of DBM when I came to hate the language concept of Richard and Phill. Translate the rules has been part of the game for all the non english speaking wa...

Re: Notes of the Spanish Armies

We must assume that in the list the "Caballos Corazas" can be considered also German Reiters mercenaries. German Reiters was called in Spanish "Herreruelos". In Germany, principal Spain recruiting zone, they were also called "Swartzreiters" (black riders) due to their ...

I thought the most similar to a skirmish troop that you could see in later 80YW was a fight in "caponeras" (that is how Spanish call tunnels scratched under trench. like in Breda or Bergen-op-zoom sieges).

Perhaps some enfant perdue detachment, but I think that's all.

Third part of the review is now available in my blog.

I only hope this review and madaxeman battle reports ( http://www.madaxeman.com/reports/Oxford_2010_1.php ) could show you what a great game is FoG Renaissance (if you still don't know it).

I usually get my minifigs through Caliver books. I make an order every month and it always take them exactly 3 weeks. I'm from Spain so I suppose that delivering in USA could take them 1 or 2 weeks more :S

Patience and good luck, all seems slower when you're waiting for it.

I'm preparing just right now the second (and more interesting) part, about turn sequence. I hope it will be fin...
