Old Glory 15mm Early Loius XVI French

Anyone seen this range? They are lumped in the 30yw group and I'm curious as to whether they are just figures for that era or a range that could be used for the 1680s?90s.

Re: Detached shot put to good use

Good point, but at this date it was surely the grenadier companies that were detatched which atre treated as musket bayonet. Perhaps the later lists should allow only 1 stan per unit?

My best results have been with a superior unit flanked by 2 average. I try to get have them in echelon, with the lead average unit flanking the Swedish line. Swedes usually have smaller number of foot & inferior cavalry, so this has been feasible a few times. The Superior unit is the point of co...

Bow are especially useful if combined with a greater number of firearms, as they stand a greater chance of hitting and do not then have to take a -2 on a death roll......

A battlegroup cannot be shot at if looting a camp, only if it is attacking it. Only fortified camps can be attacked, as any move into unfortified camps loots them during the movement phase. If the bases which protrude can be attacked in melee and can defend themselves, then it does not strike me as ...

Looters shooting

In a game last night, I captured a camp with a line of dragoons by the usual move to contact in the movement phase. One ( and part of another )base was clear of the camp, and I wished to shoot at a column of my opponents cavalry within close range (sweatily close range, but a camp is hard to resist)...

I should have made clear that I was replying to Gary. We were a little at cross purposes. Apologies, Eldiablito, our views appear similar.

Have to confess that I don't agree. Spaniards in Mesoamerica were generally subjected to very heavy missile fire of different missile types depending on which people they were facing. They quickly adopted cotton armour, both for man and horse as a response to the high missile usage but were generall...

The answer is in the list itself in the pre-amble. Any list you are considering really requires that you read this bit as that is where some of the restrictions are posted, both in ancients and renaissance.

I agree; if using troop commanders only, better with 4. Regimental guns are a points sponge, especially if superior; spending the same points on stands gives another unit, similar firepower and a higher break point- although my personal preference is to have one unit with them on a weaker flank in c...

This one was quite well covered a while ago. Sometimes your first caualty has to be the nearest to the shooters. Looking back through the old posts should cover it for you.

Let me start with saying I think that selling/buying in units is a good idea. Fair point from your point of view about having to make the decision on mould mixes, but when I buy a pack of each foot code (ordering today) I end up with 78 foot figures only 3 of which are command, so my point of view a...

Can we buy command packs too? I like to use 2 standards per unit, so would appreciate being able to buy a pack of 3 officers, 3 drummers and 6 ensigns.
