Re: classes.txt stats?
Hi guys, could someone tell me what each of the numbers under "stats" stands for? Many thanks
It's the actual "stats" of units and how they will be displayed in the bottom UI.
Ships have stats like "naval small/large attack/defense", ground troops "infantry/vehicle attack/defense" and air ...

Re: When to use torpedoes?
Best to use DD's to attack CA or BB with torpedoes while they have not moved on their turn.
Even some CA (e.g. German) have high torpedoe values and can be used to attack other CA or BB.
The closer you get to the target the higher the damage.
PS: I guess most players don't know how to use naval ...

Re: There should be a sticky of how to install it
The full installation of the game also always downloads the full game with all assets and campaigns. I guess the "Slitherine" DLC activations just "unlocks" the respective campaign(s).
But seriously, if you really want "convenient", download the game on Steam. You'll never have to worry about this ...

Re: how to use midget submarines
I get that the "tunneling" effect is just a shortcut for units basically, but I seriously thought that some (custom) scenarios would/could use it for some "creative" secondary objectives at least.

Try to keep the amount of savegames to a minimum. The more savegame files you have the longer are the loading times.

Good question. Never got an answer.
That's why Bruce decided to do it himself, I guess.
Like him, I love this game, but the devs abandoned it long ago...

No offense, but you should be glad there even is a manual available. Both the scenario and campaign manuals were made by Bruce, one of the moderators here; for free; in his own free time.gunny wrote: Sat May 03, 2025 6:30 pm So is this the one to use even though we are at version .... what .. 10.6.0 or something .![]()

That's about it. Because of the "0.6" the dirt road system never really worked well with forests.StuccoFresco wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:12 am Yes, the roads' mechanics is a bit wonky but everything works reasonably fine.

Never worked. Yeah, you could load them, but not unload them.
Off topic: Ever tried the "tunneling" effect with the Japanese infantry units? The mechanic works, but to my knowledge nobody ever implemented it in their maps. Custom or "official".

You forgot at least the maps of the users "terminator", "LNDavoust" and "Duplex" in your list.

First of all, thanks for sharing! :D
A very interesting take on "income/reinforce" in a scen. :)
Played on middle diff., quite hard to do a MajorVic, especially on the first try not knowing the map...
(but that may not be a bad thing, just saying)

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.90)
Thank you again, Bruce, for doing your CSI thing on this campaign/mod. I think it's really special and deserves it. :D
Two thoughts of mine, though:
- don't forget that you're also using the "Horst-Hack" OoB version, thus changing e.g. the mine-damage-model compared to vanilla (-> Northern ...

Re: Mod graphic help
Sorry to say, but you need to adjust the scale of the model in the 3D software before exporting to OoB. :(
I don't know where you got this from, but I guess you do not have the original model, but simply the MDB file, right? Sorry, doesn't work like that.
Or, maybe, our " deus ex machina " knows ...

Funny thing, it's already in the game! The Brit. SBS_Canoe unit on water.
You just have to assign a ship-attack value to them. They already dive submerged when moving...

LND, I have to give it to you that although playing on middle diff., it's been a long time since I had the feeling that I *could* possibly lose a battle/scenario in OoB. Strange feeling...

Sorry, but I really don't care about all this nitpicking.
And please don't point fingers. Even if you didn't mess up the cavalry animation personally, who cares?
You're the dev, fix your game, please.
