Re: Strange start corridor
I don't know why they would need to be? I mean look at the example that this very thread is about! The deployment zone is along the sea which is now effectively the map edge, so as I said the notion that people might deploy along the edge of the map to deny flanks is already a thing in the game eff...

Re: Strange start corridor
As you said, battles are decided even before the fight if one commander gets the better terrain. Therefore there is no point in playing out the battle. So battles in the game assume no one has the perfect start position and both commanders are willing to fight. Not all edges are impassable. So in t...

Re: Strange start corridor
But it becomes unrealistic and gamey when units bunch up in one corner just to exploit some terrain. An army’s flank shouldn’t be the map edge. It works like a fake impassable terrain. If one does that, the map needs to be extended more to give space at the army’s flanks. I disagree with some of th...

Re: Strange start corridor
Hey Richard, In general is it an easy ask for a more specific option for deployment zone size when creating the game? I am always torn about whether or not I like the limited deployment size. While sometimes its nice as it forces you to place your armies in interesting ways, other times it can unfun...

38. Don't be overly aggressive. If one of your flanks isn't in position, stop moving the other flank until both sides are ready. It will not hold as long as you want it too.......wait this is supposed to be lessons I have learned.........still working on that one.

Re: The Rally Point
So now we know that Legions Triumphant will be the next DLC. What this will mean for Season 2 of the FOG2DL, starting on June 1st, is that there will be a much wider choice of armies available in the Late Antiquity section. It will still mean that we will need two "improvised" sections to...

23. Dont put cavalry sandwiched between an impassable stream and your line. You will not be able to work them around the flank and will end up in a traffic jam.

Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
Quite satisfied with my performance this tournament. New to the system and finished low 50s (halfway through the completes) and won 50% of my games. Lots of fun, great army choices! Looking forward to the next one.

What's your "This shouldn't have happened!" moments so far?
So since this game has quite a bit of RNG, it's only a matter of time before the RNG Gods decide to be fickle and completely screw over you or your opponent. So what have been your mind boggling or funny moments of things that by the numbers shouldn't (aka incredibly unlikely) have happened but did ...

Re: Field of Glory II - Holiday 2017 Tournament
Excited for round two. I slacked off this last week and a half focused on the first round that I forgot to do a couple practice games, since I don't know these armies! Oh well! Good news is I won both my games in the first round which is my first wins out of 15 games prior!! So no matter how the res...

Re: DAG options?
Will there ever be an option to make our own armies out of all the units instead of restricted creation as it is now? I am gonna go ahead and say no. That is almost definitely not going to happen. Officially that is. It would be easy enough to make a mod to do that. However, that is the opposite of...
