Re: Manzikert

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that the 2nd line can randomly decide to join you. It happened in my current game. I haven't finished it yet, but i might actually have a chance now. Manzikert was a disaster for the Byzantines in real life, so it's historically accurate for this battle t...

Oh, I wasn't aware ancients was offered for free before.

I guess it was a case of wishful thinking on my part.

The recent Steam Sale of FOG2 Medieval

Recently FOG2 Medieval was offered for free during the Steam Summer Sale. I wonder if this might have been a marketing ploy to introduce people to the game, so as to increase the numbers of possible buyers of a new game, yet to be announced. I never took a marketing class in college, so I might be m...

Need advice on Strategy

In my current campaign I'm playing as England. It's turn 260 and I'm in fifth place in legacy. Seljuks and Byzantines are in 1st and 2nd place. My problem is that I'm having doubts about ever catching either of them in legacy. I'm currently getting about 600 legacy a turn, but both the Seljuks and B...

Re: @RBS: Why squares with HEX oriented rules?

I was around at the time when hex-based games were first invented, solely (at that time) as a way to get round the fact that diagonal moves are longer than orthogonal moves on a square grid. Which caused big problems in manually resolved board wargames. Wow, and I thought I was old. I remember play...

I'd buy a new game like this.

Now there's 4. Lol

Re: Any tips for Aljubarrota as Castile on Level 3?

Ok I tried it again and while technically I didn't win, ( lost by 1 point on the last turn), I'm pretty sure I could of won if I had played a little differently. It's basically that you have to hope that the French make a hole. Support them with knights as much as you can squeeze them into the Frenc...

Any tips for Aljubarrota as Castile on Level 3?

I've tried it several times. It seems like your only hope, is that the French mercenaries make a gap you can exploit.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Any hints for Paul59's Marsaglia 1693 Savoy side?

I've tried it a few times and keep getting beat. Any hints would be appreciated. The only thing left that I haven't tried, is pulling back my left flank to shorten the line and refuse my left, then launch a attack on the French left at an opportune time, followed up by a mass of my cavalry. But this...

The top post is a list of all the player made content.
It doesn't have any commentary as such, but it does give a wiki link for each historical battle.

Re: Community Petition to Invest in a Field of Glory III Napoleonic / Renaissance / GNW

I myself am hoping for an early modern 1500 to say 1715.

Though an ancient or medieval far east game wouldn't break my heart.

Either way it would be an automatic buy for me.

Re: Historical corrections for Kyivan Rus'

Imo, I guess using AI is fine, but all the "facts" it comes up with would need a reference from some historical source. Preferably a primary source, if there is none, a respected secondary source will do.

Re: Tips for Byzant

I consider the neutral region corridor an exploit but I don't see an obvious answer to this ... I also consider it an exploit. An emperor who did this would lose authority. Would it be possible to impose an authority penalty on the Byzantines for each region that revolts and becomes independent? Or...

In my game as Aragon, I have what i believe is medium infantry. It's not called medium however, just infantry.

Haven't used the levy camp yet.

Re: Army Compositions

I go for the best heavy infantry I can get to fill up the max frontage, with knights on the flanks. I back them up with heavy crossbowmen. It's nice to have extra cavalry too, so you can really punish the enemy in the pursuit phase. I also add enough medium infantry to fight in forests and mountains...
