Why is military expertise a factor for the maximum amount of metal you can store?
I just discovered that and it explains why Macedonia can sit on that huge metal mountain and fuel its army. I'm playing Dacia and my metals mostly melts away (because of lowisch military expertise) although I'm putting it like candy in any trade deal.
I do not understand the reasoning behind that mechanic. I would have thought that storage capacity scales with 'metal' or storage buildings.

I always thought is was a factor of how much you could produce.poesel71 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 1:47 pm Why is military expertise a factor for the maximum amount of metal you can store?

Anyway when you get a little bit further on the only thing you do is sell metal.
There are 10 kind of hard problems in computer science, naming, cache invalidations and off-by-one errors.
There are also 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who do not.

Yes, as Dacia I'm drowning in metal. But since I have a 1.2 military expertise I can have only a small stockpile. A fouth (?) of what is beyond the stockpile is automatically wasted each turn.
I'm loosing metal because I have bad soldiers so to say.

Game balancing mostly. You want a rationale?
This is refined metal, almost ready to be used for weapon and armor making. Given your army is crap, the local artisans tend to not stock a lot on it and get rid with lousy deals at the local level (not represented here, I might give a few extra money for this lost metal, if this appears more realistic).

Wouldn't a bad army need higher stocks of metal? Because they are so bad?Pocus wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 9:27 am This is refined metal, almost ready to be used for weapon and armor making. But giving money for the 'lost' metal sounds like a good idea. Then it would make sense to mine more metal even if you don't have the army to waste, ahm, spend it.
