Enemy army info on battle

Post by storeylf »

I don't know whether I may be missing something, but I've seen it a couple of times before, an enemy army comes out of the fog of war straight into me, and I have no idea what army I'm facing beyond unit count and fairly useless army power stat. I can't select the enemy army and I seem to have no way to see what it contains. It's a little irritating when I'm trying to decide whether to export or auto resolve. I like to export most even or underdog battles (I use Empires more as a FOG campaign system than a game in itself), but sometimes time or having already fought several battles in 1 sitting I might auto resolve to save time or look for a more interesting battle over the next turns.

Been playing Tarentum last few days, its rather common for Roman armies to just turn up and attack you with no prior recon as you struggle to survive. Having already exported and played 2 major (for the early game anyway) battles in quick succession having a 3rd one in 3 turns I'd like to be able to more readily see whether it is just going to be a similar enemy composition to the other 2 or something a bit different. Resolve the battle just to see what I'm facing and then reload if it looked more interesting that the other 2 armies is a bit of a pain. OK its not overly burdensome, just one of those UX things that can make a game nicer.

So enhancement request please - some way of being able to see a list of what the enemy has before deciding to resolve or export.
