Game freezes when loading Barbarossa Center or South

When I load my last game - last turn in France - and end that campaign, I have no problems choosing my next campaign: Barbarossa or North Africa.

Barbarossa North and N. Africa load without a problem. However, if I choose Barbarossa Center or South the game just gets stuck on the "loading" screen. I have run these tests several times. I have uninstalled/reinstalled PC2 and same thing happens.

I have updated my nVida drivers - same thing happens. The only AV program that I run is Windows Defender. I also have Malwarebytes as my anti-spyware application. No others are installed on my computer.

Interestingly enough, on my first playthrough I experimented with both Barbarossa Center and South before deciding on North Africa and I had no problems. Only now after I restarted my campaign from Poland. Steam is automatically set to download patches/updates, so I don't know if the problem first occurred before or after the patch.

I saw someone else (after I posted this) have the same issue in another thread (new patch). I cleared out my game cache and saved games. Once I dutifully play my way to the end of the France campaign, I will post here if I still encountered the same problem or not.

Yes, clearing the cache is what should resolve this problem, but deleting the saves was unnecessary.

My problem is that I can't actually start Barbarossa SOuth -- the choice lies partially under the Accept button, and the game doesn't respond to me clicking on Barbarossa South, it seems to be assuming I am clicking on Accept. Anyone else have this problem?
