Keep in mind I'm not strong with computers. My issue is ...
Updated FG2 with latest patches.
Bought Onslaught.
Downloaded file that came up
Placed file in my FG2 main file folder
Doubled clicked.
Got message file could not be found.
Ran as admin.
Got message app could not be run on my machine.
Running Win 10 with an I7 processor and dedicated graphics card.
I've had no issues running FG2
Any idea what I'm doing wrong. Yes, I have a product number and yes it is registered.
THANKS!!
can't get onslaught to install

Re: can't get onslaught to install
Need to add to first note ...
- My FG2 main page does list Onslaught but when I click on it it shows in the bottom right I still need to buy it.

Re: can't get onslaught to install
so standalone and not steam version?
Re: can't get onslaught to install
the download isn't the game, it's a addon which needs to be installed, not placed anywhere tbh, once the DLC is downloaded if it's the standalone version, then once it's done and in your download folder, just double click it and install and follow what it asks, good luckNimrod 9th wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 7:15 pm Keep in mind I'm not strong with computers. Thanks. With hints from your post and some guess work and trying a number of different approaches I finally got it to work.

Re: can't get onslaught to install
The issue of not being able to select units and executing commands can be resolved by going to Options -> Input and clicking Restore Defaults and Apply. A more permanent fix is already in testing.Nimrod 9th wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 9:53 pmWhat a frustrating day. Now nothing works! Onslaught crashes as it trying to load the first mission. Once it did load after I lowered graphics but then i couldn't place units. Loaded and started a new Invasion campaign. Loaded okay but units won't move. Must be my old graphics card. GeForce GT 540M. Think I'll just turn things off for awhile and come back to it. Guess I can unstall everything and reload only Invasion.
As for crashing when loading the first onslaught mission this is mostly related to how much VRAM your graphics card has. A quick search indicates that there are versions with 2GB but also some witha lower amount. As you experienced setting graphics settings lower (Especially resolution) might help enough to be able to start a game: we are caching the results so you might only need to turn down the settings once for each new map you are playing (still inconvenient but it would at least let you play the game you payed for).

Re: can't get onslaught to install
Chris,
Thanks big time. Got Invasion to work. I have tried a number of different graphic settings and no luck with Onslaught. Guess I'll just have to wait until I buy a new laptop. I do admit this one is old (over 4 years) but I like to buy a good high end system and use it for years and years. Guess my "years and years" are just about up with this one. Thanks again.
