Is this one of the closest battles ever fought?

Playing Battle #2 of the excellent (and new) Hamilcar Barca campaign now available for in-game download.

Anyway, screen shot attached showing the final numbers. Has anyone ever seen such a close match (vs. AI here)?

Looking back over my results, I have had several that close or even closer.

Here are two that I lost 61% to 60%;

Apamea Historical scenario, Fatimids v Byzantines; Two turns before the game finished I was on 61% routed, but was saved by one of my units rallying. I then got the AI on 60% routed with me on 59%, but in the AI turn one of my units routed to take me back to 61%, and a loss.

A campaign game of Roman 285-378 AD v Germanic/Gothic Foot; I had the Germans over 60% two turns before the end, but a German Warband rallied to save them. I was then on the verge of routing another one, when a steady Roman cavalry unit got charged in the rear, by a Light Horse Javelin unit, after their original target had evaded, my Roman cavalry auto routed taking me to 61%!

This battle I won 54% to 55%;

Battle number 9 of the Alexander Historical campaign; I made a right mess of it, and my army was wrecked and on the verge of collapse, but in the last turn a Persian Crescent shield infantry unit (that was in rough terrain) was routed by one of my disrupted Pike units (that was also in melee with enemy elephants!). How that actually happened is beyond me!

I think he is referring to the losses, not the %'s. Killed 2706 vs 2706, wounded 8226 vs 8232, routing 11919 vs 11640.

Oh I see. They are remarkably close.

I never record casualties, or even look at them, they have no relevance for me. Who wins or loses depends on the percentages, not the casualties. My primary purpose for recording results is in balancing the game, especially the scenarios that I design.

I thought the same thing until the Dev pointed out to me that total casualties greater than 15% make going forward in Campaigns more difficult due to fewer replacements available for additional units (all being use to fill in unit losses). I now pay close attention to both - it made trying to balance the Campaign a lot more difficult.
