I already played 3 games with this faction 7v7 on very strong difficulty, most of the tau' units have a very weak armor and gets destroyed really easy especially against space marines units, not to mention the ty7 devilfish who has both weak armor and attack making it totally useless .
Also i noticed that the tau' ai is significantly weaker then other factions and not building new cities like intended (they do build new cities just not as near as the tyranids), sometime only have two cities the entire game making him the first to be routed unless they started between two allies that are defending him early in the game.
Lastly, it would be really great for baneblades and obelisks to get more movement points since it really takes forever to get them where the battle is especially in big maps .
hoping these suggestion will be included in the next updates.
The t'au untis needs more armor .
Re: The t'au untis needs more armor .
What Tau units do need is more range. I modded the Pulse Rifle to have a range of "3" and same with Pathfinder's weapons. Tau are meant to be WEAK/SQUISHY, but to take advantage of very long range. Regarding cities, who knows...may be a bug.o cares wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 9:35 pm I already played 3 games with this faction 7v7 on very strong difficulty, most of the tau' units have a very weak armor and gets destroyed really easy especially against space marines units, not to mention the ty7 devilfish who has both weak armor and attack making it totally useless .

Re: The t'au untis needs more armor .
I think if they supposed to be weak that should be countered by being fast in expanding just like the tyranids.
in terms of range i think they're fine .
Re: The t'au untis needs more armor .
The Tau Empire is a very small empire and their fighting style is basically using long range and high firepower to take out the enemy very fast since they don't want to lose troops, they can't afford loses! Even if they engage their enemy in small skirmishes they wanna make sure that the enemy will be taken by surprise as to not have much of a chance to defend itself. The worst situation in which the Tau could be is by fighting a battle of attrition.
Fast expanding...I don't know, they are a small fighting force... very small mind you so there is no way for them to expand as fast as the Tyranids, the Tyranids outnumber their opponents 50 to 1 so they are a special case when comparing to other factions, but to be honest in all matches I had the Tau had build more than 3-4 cities, they even had 5 and they were a pain in the neck to deal with, so again, it may be a bug in your case or it may be the setup...maybe for those matches they chose not to build more than 2 cities, which is odd but oh well, who knows, hope the devs will look at your issue. I still didn't see the AI build their fortification units and I hope the devs will find the cause. Have you seen the AI build them?

In some games they actually built up to 5 and 6 cities, but what i meant is that there ai in the game is not prioritizing building new cities as much as other faction.
as for fortification units the ai wont build them because the devs didn't programmed them to, but hopefully we'll read (the ai can build fortification units now) in the Changelog
of the next updates.
