Turning Off Barbarian Hordes

Is there a way to turn off or lessen the appearance of barbarians without adjusting the overall difficulty? I know there are specific configuration files for each map that handle this, but the same variables are listed in several different files and I'm not sure what the best way to go about modifying them is. The barbarians were fun for a time now they are just annoying and distracting.

It can be done but you would have to do it for each map individually. Just change the chance of barbarian attacks to get lower or set them to 0. Note teh events.txt file is a concatanted version of the various smaller events files. If you edit teh smaller files you'll need to run teh batch to patch them all together and create events.txt.
