Alternate Pontic Starter

My Mithridatic DBM army, when I first got it, was based on the later Imitation Legion version much like the current Pontic Starter. Later I added the Pike and Scythed Chariots etc to be able to play an earlier version which I have come to prefer.

With this in mind could you form an "Early" Pontic Starter by replace the 3 BG's of Imitation Legionaries (@ 48 pts ea) with 3 BG's of Pikemen: each 8 bases Av, Prot, Drill, Pike @ 6/base = 48pts.?

The FoG 'starter armies' are just to help guide newcomers as they begin to build their forces and become familiar with the rules. So you could indeed create your own version of an Early Pontic 'starter army,' as long as it conforms to the Pontic army list specifications.
