Ok, this came up in a game the other night...
90 degree turns... the basic mechanism for the turn is that the turned BG needs to have it's new front edge at least the # of bases "so that the width of the turned group is at least as wide as it was deep before turning". (pg. 44) Ok, fine.
The question is, what is the "maximum" width of the new edge? For instance, a 4 base BG of HF turn 90 degrees. They were 2x2... so depth was 30mm (using 15mm scale here). So, legally, they could meet the above by forming in a column of 1 wide x 4 deep. But frankly, as the player, I'd want them to maintain 2x2 formation. And, according to the above, that's legal because the new front edge (80mm or two bases) is "at least as wide as it was deep" (30mm or 2 HF bases) before turning.
Anyone got a problem with that? Is there something I'm missing somewhere else in the rulebook? Clarity please.

Yes. The word "minimum".Rattleshirt wrote:Is there something I'm missing?

Well, my army of medieval Frenchmen getting caught in the mud has the same problem. I think you and my friend zulu have alot in common. Lousy longbows... past couple of games, I just can't seem to keep from becoming a pincushion.Bleck Swiss.
May you always fight in uneven terrain.
With the Swiss.. I'll have better screening and my spears will be longer than his!! (I'm praying!)
