Shields: transfers, paint, or draw?
With my 15mm corvus belli legionary, I can't decide whether to use transfers, paint the symbols on, or see if there is some sort of fine-tipped marker that I could effectively 'draw' with. I tried painting and I'm not too pleased with what I got; the lines always seem too think. I'm open to suggestions. What do you do for shields? Is there a place that sells transfers for corvus belli minis? I see a lot of Essex out there...

You can make your own transfers. Get blank decal paper from Veni Vidi Vici, then generate the artwork on your computer and print it out.

Does anybody know if some of the republican roman transfers sold by Little Big Men are compatible with the republican romans from Feudal Castings?stenic wrote:If you go transfers do check that your intended supplier 's shield sizes matche the figure's shield size... I didn't and now have lots of shield transfers that are too small for the shield with regards size and fitting over the shield bossNot insurmounttable but a a pain never the less.

Their transfers are gorgeous but they are for Old Glory 15', Xyston or Corvus Belli... I guess they might work with other brands but don't want to order without being sure...

The paper described on the 3v website site as "For inkjet printers" needs an inkjet printer. The paper described as "For laser printers" is for laser printers. A dot matrix printer will print on the laser paper. I've not tried dot matrix on inkjet printer, but it would probably work.DaiSho wrote:Do you know what kind of printer it has to go on?lawrenceg wrote:You can make your own transfers. Hmm, fair enough, but I would have thought that an inkjet printer ink would have run when put in the water to disolve the transfer glue!lawrenceg wrote:The paper described on the 3v website site as "For inkjet printers" needs an inkjet printer. It does, so you have to spray over the printed sheet with artists watercolour fixative or varnish. This is noted on the website somewhere and also on the instruction sheet that comes with the transfer paper.DaiSho wrote:Hmm, fair enough, but I would have thought that an inkjet printer ink would have run when put in the water to disolve the transfer glue!
