Gaz 4M is bugged (and also awesome)
Gaz 4M AA truck is pretty garbage as an AA piece. But if you put it into direct fire mode it becomes a really great range 2 artillery piece that hits for 2+ damage against most infantry!
I'm now picturing this truck with 4x Maxims strapped to it gunning down everything in its path like some sort of wild Soviet Mad Max mobile.
Another fun bug is the missing AT mode on the Soviet heavy AA, the only heavy AA in the game I am aware of that lacks this attribute? It was indeed used as direct fire AT regularly so it'd be nice if it had it.

Yes, please, correct this with the next update. Remove the range setting from the AT switch version!
It's also nice that the effectsequence was changed to "flakquad_20mm", but I suggest to recheck it, as the animation's actually missing the 3rd and 4th weapon points (MG_Flashes).
PS: Both bugs already corrected in my mod as of v8.1

Personally, I think it makes sense. Remember, each truck has 4 Maxim machine guns. Those trucks were probably quite numerous, probably 50 or more in a battalion. 200 Maxim MGs. Along with that, they have a high mobility. I do agree, it shouldn’t have any range.
Klinger, you're dumber than you look, and THAT boggles the MIND.

By that inane logic all infantry should have range 2.Zekedia222 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 9:00 pm Personally, I think it makes sense. Remember, each truck has 4 Maxim machine guns. At no point did I state that I state it should have any range. Read the final sentence again, chief. And even then, the Maxim machine gun is not the standard infantry weapon. And, for reference, Maxim MGs can fire at ranges up to 9 times farther than the standard Soviet rifle, so if you want to get technical, there ya go.

No, there were max 12-16 at division level I suppose, and were used only for AA purposesZekedia222 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 9:00 pm ...Those trucks were probably quite numerous, probably 50 or more in a battalion. 200 Maxim MGs...
You should remember only US and significant part of British armies were fully motorized in 30s and 40s. German army was motorized only 30% in 1940, Soviet army suffered from a permanent lack of trucks. The trucks were too few, even for the purposes of transporting supplies, so goals such as transporting soldiers to the battlefield or mounting special armament on trucks were implement in second or third order
That is why Lend-Lease supplies for the Soviets (mainly trucks) were so important
GAZ-AAA trucks (all versions) were produced maybe 40 000 vehicles during all production period (30s/40s) and it was very little for such country as Soviet Union
Only US-6 Studebaker truck were made 220 000 vehicles in 1941-45 (for comparison)

Fair enough. From what I can tell, though, 150,000 GAZ trucks were in service with the Red Army by 1941

GAZ-AA (produced 1 000 000 vehicles in 1932-1950 period) and GAZ-AAA (produced 37 000 trucks in 1934-1943)
GAZ-AAA was a platform for MGs and other armament, because GAZ-AA was old, rather weak vehicle based on old Ford-AA license (project from early 20s
EDIT. Oh, and there was also GAZ-MM version of GAZ-AA produced since 1938 with stronger 50 HP engine
Soviet inf div had about 550-600 trucks (very few
