I like to name 'saved beta games' to match an issue but the way the game saves now confuses me.

You can open the files in any text editor and the user-readable filename is shown at the top of the file. The files are numbered to allow the filenames to work appropriately in any language. There is a task on the list to append a semi-readable version of the user filename to the actual filename to aid in identifying files.
