Continuing a MP game alone

I'm the last player in a MP game. I can see the last turn but not send my orders to the server.

Is there a way to continue that game? I would like to see how it plays out even though there is no human opponent anymore.

No, once a MP game is done (either because all but one human surrendered or the victory conditions were met) and it has moved to your Completed tab, you are not able to play more turns.

That is unfortunate. I wish you could continue alone. A game of Empires is a big time Investment and I would like to decide for myself when to end a game or not.
