I was having this issue too but just stumbled across a trick by accident/luck that has worked near perfectly.SLancaster wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:23 am I set the camera to zoom in a bit more on the units. Do you think that it affecting things? As I said, most of the time there is no problem just from time to time.
I do always play with medium sized armies..
Just before you click End Turn for the AI's moves, hit Shift+3 (you know the key combo that zooms you in on the units?). When you do that just scroll back on the mouse until you like what you see. You can only zoom out so far which is nice (you won't over compensate and have to fiddle), you still get a decent overview of the field (with the limited zoom out) and you can still see the detail on the units. Then advance to the AI's turn. The camera will pan real nice like this. Once it's your turn again just hit Shift+3 and unlock it to normal. Do this a few turns and it becomes muscle memory.
I also recommend turning the game speed down to 80%. 100% works, but 80 gives you just a second or so more to take in what is happening without bogging the game down.
After discovering this, I tested it with my edited mapview camera file and the stock camera and it works great with both.
Have fun.
Mord.
P.S. Can keys be remapped? It would be even better if the function could be bound to a single key.
