Status after surrender

I recently started playing this game and I enjoy it much. I like the historical depth in terms of units, historical events etc.
My only complaint is the territorial status after a counrty surrender. I dont like much that surrendering enemy keeps the territory still holding at the time of the surrender offer with all his units inside there.
I suppose that he should concede at least the encircled territory to the Victor. Victor should take all the hexes up to the last hex parallel borderline.
It looks kinda messy that you dont get an undivided territorial borderline after forcing the enemy to surrender.
I think the "status after surrender" is better in the ww2 version of the game.
