OoB [v8.1.0] Provisional Localization Fix

Post by Soldberg »

Red Star is currently only available in English. The DLC has not yet been localized to other languages. Since the lack of the localization files leads to considerable problems, which in extreme cases can lead to game crashes, I have written a small, but only provisional localization fix.

This fix completes the missing localization files in the DLC Red Star. But I didn't really try to translate them. So Red Star stays in English with this fix, regardless of the language. In return it runs stable again for the first time.

The following ZIP package is optimized for use with Steam. The conventional version of the game can also be fixed. You only have to click through the Steam file structure, which I adopted in the fix, to the actual game folder.

I moved this here (from Tech Support) for greater visibility. I was going to question you, because I found all the files to be in English, before I reread and understood your second paragraph. These are "filler" files, pending the actual translations.

I've had a look at the changelog currently in beta, and it contains an entry for "Added missing texts for all languages." For Red Star, that is. I believe that's the resolution but I cannot be absolutely sure.

Thanks for sharing your work, by the way. It's appreciated.

Kudos for the effort indeed.

Issue should be resolved with the next patch/release though.
