start in 1944 ????
Greetings to allI started Grand campaign since 1944 on both fronts, but soon I realize how terrible the situation is.My core strength is the one that starts by default in 1944.It is very difficult to move forward with the units practically with little experience and without heroes.I did it that way because I don't have time to play since 1939.Anyone with experience to provide advice? In Russia I find Jassy Kishinev * and with western Monte Casino. But it is clear that prestige will not reach and my troops will soon be worn out due to little experience. What do you think you should do?

IMHO, not that much that can be done there... except for maybe either playing better or using relevant cheat codes... good luck!

I think it has an effect on what difficulty level you are playing at. Field Marshall would be almost impossible, where as General or Lieutenant should be much more doableDerPz wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 4:27 am Greetings to allI started Grand campaign since 1944 on both fronts, but soon I realize how terrible the situation is.My core strength is the one that starts by default in 1944.It is very difficult to move forward with the units practically with little experience and without heroes.I did it that way because I don't have time to play since 1939.Anyone with experience to provide advice? In Russia I find Jassy Kishinev * and with western Monte Casino. Re: a partir de 1944 ????
Greetings, thanks for replying. The difficulty is in general as it comes by default and still surviving.Russia (Poltava)Allies (Bayeux)As I enter the forums of DLC 1944 and read the experience of each player, they give me an idea of what I will face.I think it is a challenge to play under these circumstances, because I must know how to manage the prestige and the units that I am going to buy.I will assume that I am a commander who assigned me that army and I must continue. hehehehegoose_2 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 2:12 pmI think it has an effect on what difficulty level you are playing at. Re: a partir de 1944 ????
I am considering doing a playthrough starting in 1945 East with the default army given to you in the game. Setting Double Rommel 25% prestige. Right after I finish my Manstein playthrough of the entire Grand Campaign. I am at Berlin right now.DerPz wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 9:05 pmGreetings, thanks for replying. Re: start in 1944 ????
I think you're given some good units with generous overstrength to start. Those extra strength points will surely disappear quickly. I'm not sure how many stars your units begin with though. It's a very important question, and I believe it will be lower if you start at one of the higher difficulty levels.
But, those are secondary issues compared to the amount of prestige you start out with. What is it? I fear that it is probably not even close to being what you might need. If you read through these forums, the classic, tried & true approach to the GC is to build up prestige in the early years of the war, and then burn through it in the last years of the war. For context, most players would probably agree that you would need a prestige pile well into the five figure range in order to make it all the way to the end. Without it, the game becomes unplayable IMO. So, my guess is that you can't make it through '44 & '45 from this starting point. The only thing you can really do is to see how long you can hold on, which you might find to be an enjoyable challenge in & of itself. Good luck!
Re: a partir de 1944 ????
I'm even like to play like that, because even if they don't believe me during the day, I think about what would be the best decision.I am also giving value to units that I did not use before. LOL.
On both fronts the situation of prestige is precarious, under these conditions I have to regulate the core of my forces with units that can compensate for present needs.
Observing which units can compensate for a positive relationship in aspects of cost, defensive value and offensives. The other problem is experience, given the low capacity for experience it is difficult to structure a balanced core and results in distortion in tactical and strategic decision making.
In such cases I do not know how to adopt an Offensive or Defensive position, although I believe that being defensive I will wear the prestige more quickly.

Re: start in 1944 ????
do you think starting in 44 would be harder than starting in 45?

Re: start in 1944 ????
I have been considering starting a 1945 campaign at Double Rommel difficulty without an imported core, but maybe I should consider starting in 1944...or maybe both?
